A Country on Fire

Malmö: burning carsMalmö seems to be turning into the Clichy-Sous-Bois of Scandinavia. According to Steen— who is referencing, among other things, an article in Sydsvenskan about recent car-burnings in Malmö — a total of six cars were set on fire in Malmö during the night on Thursday.

He adds that more than 5,000 cars will be set on fire in Sweden each year, and that more than 500 arson attacks on schools should be included in the annual statistics.

Everything’s in Danish or Swedish, and I didn’t have time to do more than get the gist of it. Scandinavian readers may go over to Snaphanen and ferret out the details.

Has anyone coined a Swedish word equivalent to the neologism “carbecue”?

Yes, and I read a public comment from the Stockholm police saying that if somebody tries to rob you, you should just give them the money. There was just nothing they could do about the wave of robberies. So why should people still pay taxes? The country is totally out of control, as is much of the rest of Western Europe, yet people are supposed to pay some of the highest tax rates in the world and get demonized by the media and beaten up by left-wing extremists if they protest.

This can't go on for much longer.

Au contraire, this can go on for a very long time, potentially as long as it takes to eliminate the natives (which could take centuries).

Sweden wanted diversity, now they have some.

"Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone..."

Chalons: Yes, but as Conservative Swede correctly has pointed out, much of this "diversity" and "I'm-white-somebody-please-whip-me!" ideology has actually been spread from the United States. As things look right now, I would consider it quite likely that the United States will not survive the 21st century in its present form, maybe not even the first half. As soon as there no longer is a stable majority population, the USA could well be divided into several countries during a Civil War Part 2. What effects would another American Civil War have on the rest of the world, considering its nuclear and military arsenal?

Perhaps the Swedes should take General Napier's sound advice from a golden age:

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."

Sadly, Fjordman is correct. The multi-culturslist, PC mindset did start in the USA though European and Canadian elites have taken it far beyond what it is currently in the US. We still have our freedom of speech and our guns.

Nevertheless, the same forces at work in Europe are working here restrict freedom of speech and take away our guns. The Democrat party would love to turn the US into another EU.

As far as the Us breaking up in another Civil War, while I certainly agree it's plausible, the US has been more succesful at integrating it's inmigrants and making them feel Americans. But if PC multi-culturalist idiocy gets it's way, especially if that idiot Dumbama gets elected, I can see the potential for such a civil war in the future increasing.

What a bunch of pikers! France burned over 37,000 cars last year.
Let's get with it up there guys...

Fjordman, I tend to agree, but I'm going to suspend speculation about any civil war at least until we see the rise of groups or factions like the AFA in the US. But that may be soon. The American left is pretty deranged as is. McCain winning the presidential election (like he will) may see groups like MoveOn and Code Pink adding militant wings. Their heads are certainly 'there' already in terms of villifying and demonizing. Normal people probably should start paying more attention to this dysfunctional subculture.

What I find fascinating and disappointing is that countries like Sweden and Norway have not learned from the experiences of others - especially the 1,400 year track record of muslim standard operating procedure.

USA has its problems too. The country is indeed Balkanizing and increasingly divided, but the US doesn't have violent groups like AFA yet, hate speech laws like Europe, Kangaroo courts like the Canadian Human Rights commissions, or evictions to natives to make way for immigrants as in Norway. Yes, Europe, America, and Australia are all infected with the same mental illness. American and Australian immune systems are little bit stronger. That's the only difference.

So yes, all of our (Western) nations are on a downward trjectory, but I don't think it will be the USA that wins the race to the bottom. They won't be too far behind, though.

Post modernism and political correctness it's ugly daughter started in Europe. Most likely England and perhaps France. For a rather excellent history on how the kind of moral and cultural relativism began read Human Accomplishment by Charles Murray who details it in a painfully detailed way.
Also, at a speech given at Pim Fortyne's memorial service available at http://vladtepesblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/pim-fortyn-memorial-speech1.doc
is a fairly good analysis.

The USA may appear to have slipped but that's the consequence of truly free speech. You can find the best and worst in the MSM. Compare it to England's BBC or Canada's CBC and you will think of the US as many do, the last hope for the rational, the non post modernist leftist and those who wish freedom from religion.
Canada for example still runs a TV show called 'Little Mosque on the Prarie' which is a pathetic demonisation of anyone who opposes Islamic supremacy in Canada tax payer supported and not watched by anyone, but part of the program to punish anyone who feels Canada may have a valuable culture and history of its own. A clip can be seen at http://vladtepesblog.com/?p=538 which gives a pretty clear idea of where Canada is at. The US is the last place that will fall.

I feel most sorry for those living in the eastern half of Europe. They suffered under Communism for so long, and now they were finally going to join the "free West." Right. Here in the "free world" where cartoonists get arrested for publishing cartoons "insulting people with dark skin" and where the heavily left-leaning press can cheer for our enemies and demonize those defending their culture and their continued physical existence. Supporting the annihilation of your people is "tolerance," objecting to this is "right-wing extremism." And they get away with this.

As many people have said before, when the fighting really begins, it's likely that some of the most extreme Leftists in Western Europe will line up with Muslims to fight against their own people. In many ways this is already happening. I read from Denmark now that left-wing extremists are getting more violent, as they already are in Sweden, and gradually becoming in Germany, Holland, Britain and elsewhere from what I hear. The criminal street gangs and Jihadists - the distinction between often doesn't exist - rule the streets while the Euro-elites want to grab more power to open the floodgates to even more mass immigration. The worst is still ahead.

Right now, it looks like certain regions among the former Communist countries in the eastern half of Europe will be the most important stronghold of European civilization as it crumbles in Western Europe and overseas.

I don't disagree with you there at all.

Many prominent leftist sites (here in the US anyway) called for armed insurrection when Obama loses (Or at least claim that many blacks will riot, which, sadly is a real possibility.)

While most of this is just bluster, it bears giving some thought, after all the "peace" marches show just how unhinged many leftists have become.

Sarajevo was hailed as a model city for multicultural harmony. Before 1991.

Anyone who thinks "It cant happen in our countries", think about that.

Extreme Leftists?

In terms of military might it will mainly be the McCains, the Bushs, the Clintons, the Ralph Peters, etc., that will line up with the Muslims. But maybe that's what you mean by the extreme Left?

Conservative Swede --

McCain at the Saddleback forum listed Fundamentalist Islam as the source of the current evil in the world. That's a big step forward for the Republican Party. One Peters also shares btw.

Bush, Clintons etc. are hopeless, but things are not that bad with other leaders. Reality is that Pakistan has more than 100 nukes. That tends to concentrate the mind.

B. Hussein will go to bat for oppressed Muslims at least as readily as Bill did.

Armed insurrection by the Gun Contol Lobby?

Now THAT should be interesting

Equality and 'lowest common denominator' are essentially one and the same. Those who advocate multiculturalism and cultural relativism refuse to acknowledge it. As first world countries have taken in third world immigrants, first world societies have started taking on third world characteristics. Look at Britain's societal meltdown, the US southern border, Paris suburbs, or Italy's Roma.

But it think the political class is quite OK with this retrogression. As long as they remain the overlords, as some will always be more equal than others.

As is evidenced by the American citizen revolt against illegal immigration, politicians can be prodded to do the minimum necessary to placate the unwashed masses. They will make their empty promises and engage in a few empty and insincere gestures until the storm blows over. Politicians know that most people are too preoccupied with earning a living to fight and win a prolonged war of attrition.

The Origins of Political Correctness
An Accuracy in Academia Address by Bill Lind

http://www.academia.org/lectures/lind1.html

The PC is part of the Cultural Marxism, invented and spawned by the Frankfurt School wizards in Germany and Hungary, consisting of the members of the Bolshevik tribe "that must not be named". Americans could never conjure up such a convoluted ideology on their own alone.
After they escaped Nazism, they moved to the US Academia and incubated the the current crop of Leftist militants.
Horkheimer, Marcuse, Adorno, all tribesmen, (Google it) just like Soros goal is this:

"And two Marxist theorists went to work on it: Antonio Gramsci in Italy and Georg Lukacs in Hungary. Gramsci said the workers will never see their true class interests, as
defined by Marxism, until they are freed from Western culture, and particularly from the Christian
religion – that they are blinded by culture and religion to their true class interests. Lukacs, who was considered the most brilliant Marxist theorist since Marx himself, said in 1919, "Who will save us from Western Civilization?" He also theorized that the great obstacle to the creation of a Marxist paradise was the culture: Western civilization itself."
