All Muslims Are Moderates

There are no moderate Muslims. There are no extremist Muslims. There are only Muslims. Got that?

That’s according to the former prime minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamed, the man who became notorious when he said that “today the Jews rule this world by proxy.”

According to an article in Malaysia Today, Dr. Mohamad considers the labels “moderate” and “extremist” to be unfair when applied to Muslims:

Mahathir MohamadTun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today asked Muslims to do away with false assumptions when declaring themselves as moderate followers of Islam because the religion is indeed moderate.

The former prime minister said Muslims did not need to defend themselves as moderate or liberal Muslims as this gave a picture that were only partial followers of Islamic teachings while others (teachings) were deemed extreme.

“Islam is already a moderate religion…there is no need for us to show that were are more liberal Muslims than others. We are Muslims… period,” he said when opening the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Muslim Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (Perkim) here.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Perkim president, said that even if some Muslims were labelled extremists, it was not because of the teachings of Islam but a lack of understanding of them or the religion being manipulated by irresponsible followers.

“There is nothing extreme about Islam if we follow its teachings as contained in the Quran,” he said.

Let’s get behind Dr. Mohamad. I recommend that Muslims everywhere simply follow the Koran as it as written.

Let them take the book at face value. It will ask them to kill unbelievers and subjugate the survivors. It declares that a woman’s value is half that of a man. It specifically instructs the believer to have nothing whatsoever to do with Christians and Jews.

Especially those Jews, the sons of apes and pigs.

Let’s hope that Muslims everywhere follow Dr. Mohamad’s advice.

Then everyone will know that Islam is inherently a moderate religion.

Then they will know that there are neither moderates nor extremists.

There are only Muslims… period.

So we can shoot 'em all and let G-d sort 'em out then?

Sounds good to me.

Well, in all fairness, "Dr M" as the Malayan paper calls him (sounds like the title of the next James Bond movie) also encourages Muslims to get off their arses and start actually do something instead of claiming victimhood 24/7.

"We must encourage followers who want to be successful and competitive. We should show that Islam does not stand in the way of followers who want to attain great achievements," he said.

Witch is precisely the problem with many Muslims: They decry their fate, living in an infidel (European) country and at the same time see their social benefits as a God given rights.

How many Muslims have been awarded a Nobel Price (not counting the peace or literature price, both awarded for BS political reasons) but a scientific one?

So IMHO "Dr M" have a point, apart the nonsense about radical and moderate Islam: Islam is being seen as as "religion of losers" from the perspective of the rest of the world.

You mean like this verse ?

008.012 Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you:
give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers:
smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

And this is only one of some 30 verses that ask for mass murder.

How moderate can you be following an intolerant terrorist pedophile warlord, and a guy who approved of the assassination of a woman -with a nursing baby at her breast as the knife thrust was delivered- all because she wrote some satirical verses about Mo?

If that's a "moderate", then Jeffrey Daumer was a freelance food critic.

Baron, your words seem clear enough, but I would like to know if this is a departure from your former stance that we have to work with 'moderate' Muslims. As much as I would like to see a moderate Muslim influence being a factor in our war with the Islamists, I just don't see it.

The mosques are allegedly busily proscribing a wahhabi doctrine of an Islamic take-over in the US. The very real danger is that the so-called moderates are really just plain Muslims, and as such, are being swayed to silently support the more rabid variety of Islam. If that is fact, then we waste time even considering trying enlist the 'moderate Muslim' to work with us to change the situation.

This would be a very big departure for me and I guess, for you and others as well.

And If the moderated Muslims are simply waiting for the scale to tip in their favor, we have possibly an even greater concern, which is the Leftists, who will undoubtedly work even harder to expedite a Muslim uprising in the most sinister fashion: a subjugation of Americans by fiat Multiculturalism.

As bob Dylan once said:
"Man's ego is inflated, his laws are outdated, they don't apply no more,
You can't rely no more to be standin' around waitin'
In the home of the brave, Jefferson turnin' over in his grave,
Fools glorifying themselves, trying to manipulate Satan
And there's a slow, slow train comin' up around the bend.

Big-time negotiators, false healers and woman haters,
Masters of the bluff and masters of the proposition
But the enemy I see wears a cloak of decency,
All non-believers and men stealers talkin' in the name of religion
And there's a slow, slow train comin' up around the bend."

Dr M. puts me in mind of another "moderate Muslim" who doesn't like the term, Eteraz. This kind of statement gives the impression that when push comes to shove, and the extremists bring about war with the rest of the world, the imperative of Islamic unity will prove overriding, so that the moderates will opt to join the side of the extremists. If so, then the only way of keeping the friendship of the moderates is to bow down to the extremists.

(Though in fairness to Eteraz he did not appear to be denying the differences between himself and the extremists, unlike Dr M.)

If they are not helping with a solution, they become the problem, moderate or not. I've never been a trusting soul but once I learned what taqiyyah(sp?) meant......

No, I haven't changed my position. I was just being facetious about Mahathir, who plainly thinks there is only one type of Muslim.

The jury's still out on whether there really is a "moderate" Islam.

But there are definitely some Muslims out there who behave in a moderate fashion, and it is those people whom we wish to encourage. They may just be apostates, but we still ought to encourage them.

We Aussies have been butting heads with Dr Mahathir for years. To say that he's anywhere near moderate is a huge wide. He's one of these sneaky politicians that uses moderate language to promote a totalitarian agenda. He even had his former deputy cum leadership challenger locked up for an alleged homosexual affair; a surprise to everyone including the accused who spent about 5-6 years in jail.

I explain why I think there are no moderate Muslims in my essay Expansionist Islam as part of my 10 Institutions That Ruin The World
