Apparently I wasn’t the only one who noticed his talent: Guramit Singh was arrested today. An EDL contact just sent this note:
I’ve just spoken to Guramit Singh. He has had his phone taken, but is in the process of getting a new one.
He has been charged under Section 4b Public Order Act, Racial Aggravation. The usual bail conditions: can’t speak at any EDL events. He is due to appear at Huntingdon Police Station on the 5th January 2011.
Can you publicise that he is OK, and post whatever you want out of the above info?
I will not get more info on this until tomorrow, as the police have confiscated his phone.
This is all I know for the moment. It seems that the intimidation and oppression are being ratcheted up in line with the phenomenal success of the EDL.
To refresh your memory, I’m reposting the video of the BBC interview below the jump:

The powers that be must be getting real scared to arrest someone with an Indian name. This shows that the EDL is gaining enough power that the political elite are getting scared of them.
I think more than a few of us probably saw this coming. Guramit Singh is a singularly powerful speaker for the EDL and British counter-jihad movement in general. Not least because of his superb command of the English language but also due to his minority and, undeniably, brown skinned status.
Unlike his white colleagues, no cries of "racism" could be hurled at him and made to stick. As a Sikh, Singh was equally immune to the typical Cone of Silence™ that is routinely settled upon all Christian causes throughout Europe and the United Kingdom.
How this plays out will be of singular importance. Sadly, Britain displays an well-developed talent for silencing supremely qualified individuals like the Pakistan born ex-Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali who has faced death threats for his outspoken criticism of British Muslims.
A quick sampling of his eloquent denunciation of Islam makes it easy to understand why all of this has happened:
In the most outspoken critique of Muslims by a church leader, Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, said that because of this view it would never be possible to satisfy all their demands.
“Their complaint often boils down to the position that it is always right to intervene when Muslims are victims, as in Bosnia or Kosovo, and always wrong when the Muslims are the oppressors or terrorists, as with the Taliban or in Iraq,” said Nazir-Ali.
“Given the world view that has given rise to such grievances, there can never be sufficient appeasement and new demands will continue to be made.”
Small wonder that the Establishment has begun such a determined effort to undermine yet another man of color who could, otherwise, so proficiently tar Islam in quite a deserving manner.
I can't really imagine that Mr. Singh will stay quiet for long, will kow-tow to a regime that unjustly demands the silence of people who are speaking THE TRUTH about Islam. No. I expect the people of Britain to rise up against the state in exploding numbers, now that they realize the state intends to Islamisize Britain. Fur will fly. Mark my words.
He spoke very well.
In hoc signo vinces
This illustrates the point that David Cameron's progressive conservative government will view the EDL and the counterjihad as more of a threat to his "Big Society" than the progressive left feared them, the ultraliberal left had street drones it could mobilize in alliance, the ultraliberal right only has the authority of the state which it will use with full force.
England is becoming a frightening place - the PC/MC fascism is daily becoming more sinister while the general population is sedated with igadgets, facebook and excessive taxes to provision the perks for the MPs and support the incubation of the gowing islamic threat.
This is too scary for words...
The authorities of Britain are illegitimate.
They lost their legitimacy when they refused to protect individualism and free speech against Islam and the despotic Orient.
What Mr Singh says is fair enough.I take it he has been arrested for what he said about big Mo?
I loved the way the BBC "journalist" absolutely had to interrupt his host to say that he disassociated himself from his words about it being perfectly right to insult Mohammed, since he was a disgusting individual.
What an Islamophobe, this journalist. You can smell the fear.
I retract all my recent expressions of airy-fairy, nice thoughts about Britain, made after all my expressions of doom-and-gloom and they've-gone-over-the-edge and such.
"Unlike his white colleagues, no cries of "racism" could be hurled at him and made to stick."
Maybe but: In America, "color"-ful people (Rice, Powell, Walter Williams, etc.) are susceptible to being labeled equally repulsive slurs other than "racist" or the like, as they are "traitors to the cause" of racial activists; One would expect Mr. Singh to be a target of these charges by his racial "peers".
scherado: One would expect Mr. Singh to be a target of these charges by his racial "peers".
While I am not an expert on the Sikh faith, I have known enough of such individuals to suggest that you may not have a sufficient understanding in this matter.
The Sub-Continent has seen enough of Islam's incessant mayhem whereby I doubt very sincerely that many from that region are going to step forward and criticize Mr. Singh for his comments.
Zenster: While I am not an expert on the Sikh faith...
I ought to have written a query to express my curiosity about the existence of a similar British phenomenon to the one that was the subject of my first comment and what Americans experienced while Mr. Colin Powell and Ms. Condoleeza Rice were Cabinet Members. I apologize that using 'peers' delimited with quotations in the phrase 'racial "peers"' was ineffectual.
'One would expect that Mr. Singh's non-Anglo status would provide only meager immunity.', would be my second edition: no references to faith or first-hand acquaintances are necessary.
Ummmmmm.... this gentleman was arrested and charged on grounds of "racial aggravation", if I understand things right.
1. "Aggravate" means "to add to" (as in "aggrandize"), not "irritate".
2. What race is mahometanism again?
Mr. Singh speaks very lucidly and knowledgeably about the Islamification of Britain, unlike Mr. Robinson, who sadly speaks with the thick, common accent of the lower class hooligan.
That is unfortunate as Tommy is quite intelligent and knows what the problem facing his country is, and what should be done about it. Be that as it may, the uninformed viewer will see Tommy as more a football hooligan than a leader of a grass-roots movement. In his last video, he mentioned that he has been arrested by the cops before, several times in fact, and this also taints him as one with criminal tendencies. Sad.
I am Canadian, but concerned about the spread of Islam in Europe and the UK (as well as here). It would be a shame to see a person with good intent - as is evidently the case with Tommy Robinson - be marginalized as a common criminal with a troublesome past. Mr. Singh would be a far more effective leader of the EDL, as he brings much more to the table, with less baggage to boot. His arrest on trumped up laughable charges is a disgrace, and just indicates how far the British government is willing to dhimmify themselves on the altar of political correctness. At the same time, his arrest indicates the fear they have of an intelligent, well-spoken man who is not even - GASP - white, taking a leadership role in a popular movement such as the EDL.
This latest incident, ie, the arrest of Mr Singh on trumped up charges since he was criticising a religion and its founder, not a race, demonstrates the precarious position which the actual indigenous WHITE British are truly in today.
I am talking about the Marxist Liberal politically engineered neutering of all indigenous White Europeans, the British being but one example which has, in turn, given rise to the spectre of representatives of non-White invader ethnicities placing themselves in leadership roles of what are primarily patriotic White revoluntionary movements due to the fact they are non-indigenous, non-White and enjoy a greater degree of freedom of speech including forthright criticism of both White and other non-White ethnicities and/or their various cultures, currently being denied to indigenous White Britons and Europeans.
Mr Singh will be handled with a high degree of sensitivity by the White law enforcement and judicial establisment compared with his potential White counterpart having been arrested for the same alleged offence.
Why?
Simply because the traitorous WHITE ruling elite daren't also risk stirring up the wrath of the Sikh community and almost certainly, their close cultural relatives, the Hindus.
I'm sorry, but this situation cannot be allowed to continue indefinately and I, for one, have already taken steps to address it by joining and becoming vocal in a universally well-known and high-profile political organisation.
