Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/12/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/12/2010China is seen by many as being exempt from the current global financial crisis, but this is not necessarily true. Despite state control, China has its share of bubbles, real estate and otherwise, and is vulnerable as a result. It depends for its fiscal well-being on European demand, which is expected to decline precipitously in the near future.

In other news, the opposition to the proposed mosque at Ground Zero in New York City is now being reported in the MSM. The Facebook group set up specifically to fight against the project has more than 20,000 members.

Thanks to C. Cantoni, CSP, heroyalwhyness, Insubria, JD, Mary Abdelmassih, REP, Vlad Tepes, and all the other tipsters who sent these in.

Somaliland Press: Russian Soldiers Stormed Ship & Executed All of Our Men

He says that like it's a bad thing. Why, there's even a tone of surprise in his voice. How very odd!

A pirate spokesman, who wished to remain [alive] anonymous, contacted Somalilandpress today said at least ten of his men were executed by the Russian navy after the troopers stormed MV Moscow University.

And the remaining Somali pirates never bothered another Russian ship, ever, ever again.

In other late breaking news we have the final score from Africa's maritime league Somalibowl ...

Bears: 10

Pirates: 0

The Chinese face insurmountable problems too numerous to list. Perhaps the greatest is the lack of liberty, which completely distorts evolutionary sorting in the economy. 600,000 (unreported) riots a year are one clue.
