Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/11/2010In advance of an EU meeting next week about the currency crisis, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble admonished currency speculators not to bet against the euro. He says the EU’s currency is doing just fine, and speculators will be sorry if they bet on a collapse of the euro.

In other news, two black Democrat politicians in Georgia have switched to the Republican Party. They are conservatives, and say that the latest election made them realize that their party no longer has a home for them.

Meanwhile, Germany is stationing troops in France for the first time since the Second World War.
