Gates of Vienna News Feed 1/5/2013

Gates of Vienna News Feed 1/5/2013The news feed remains light, due to the continuing absence of email service at Schloss Bodissey. Dymphna and I eagerly await the resolution of this latest crisis.

An armed man held three people hostage in a townhouse in Aurora, California early this morning. After shooting at police officers, a police team entered the house and killed the gunman. Three corpses were found in the house, and are believed to be relatives who were killed by the suspect.

In other news, the French actor Gérard Depardieu arrived in a Black Sea resort to meet with President Vladimir Putin and receive his Russian passport.

With regard to the silencing of Paul Weston, a blogger, stateside from the sounds of it, asked whether democracy still existed in Britain.

Reading the item about gay marriage and the statement that it is only a small liberal elite that is in favour of it made me think that I could cite this as just about summing up democracy in Britain today. However, the same could be said for most other countries in Western Europe.

For the last 60 years a small liberal elite has held power and done exactly as they please, over multiculturalism/multiethnicisation (not wanted), mass immigration (not wanted), the totalitarian European Union (not wanted), even the abolition of the death penalty probably (not wanted).

The mystery is why the electorate continues to vote for parties who, over the last 60 years, have turned a peaceful, homogeneous, stable, cohesive, well-defended, common sense, well organised and largely logical nation into a friction-ridden, crime-ridden,racially divided, unsafe, terrorism-threatened, childish, greedy, chaotic, woolly, illogical, borderless, multicultural hell-hole.

The answer is the dreaded fear of being labelled "right-wing", reactionary, racist, xenophoic, illiberal, non-progressive, extremist, bigoted etc. in a way that was considered to be just looking after the nation's better interests in a common sense way a mere 60 years ago. So this small liberal elite have got away with literally murder in the case of the 7/7 bombings and the thousands, be they immigrant or indigenous, who have died in the last 60 years whereas if they had listened to Enoch Powell, those people would still be alive today. But then I suppose that is a small price to pay for the liberal utopia.
