The news feed was delayed overnight by a power outage, which occurred just before midnight and continued for several hours. There was no apparent reason for it — the temperature was above freezing; there was no precipitation and no wind. The ways of Grid are mysterious.

Of interest is the French military intervention in Mali, which aims to prevent an Al Qaeda state from forming in the northern half of the country. France has already lost two helicopters in the operation.
