Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/14/2012Abu Qatada — widely known as “Al Qaeda’s man in Europe” — has been released from custody in Britain after British judges affirmed an EU court ruling that he could not be deported to Jordan, where he is wanted on terrorism charges. A crowd of protestors was on hand when he left prison to express its anger at his continued stay in Britain at the taxpayers’ considerable expense.

In other news, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie warned state residents that their property taxes will likely go up to pay for rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy. New Jersey already has the highest rate of taxation in the country.
