Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Turks living in foreign countries to gain citizenship in their new homelands to become politically active, not in order to integrate. He told Turkish-German politicians to resist political and social integration in their adopted homeland. The Turkish Social Democrats in Gothenburg seemed to heed Mr. Erdogan, voting to leave their party in protest over Sweden’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
In other news, Kim Jong-un, the 27-year-old third son of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il is being groomed as his father’s heir. Kim the Younger is reputed to be even crueler than his old man. Meanwhile, China and Japan have reduced their investment in US Treasury bills even further, putting the dollar at greater risk.
