There are some tantalizing tidbits in the report. Gilani’s followers are spread more widely than we had thought, with compounds in Mexico as well as those in the United States, the Caribbean, the UK, and, of course, Pakistan. CP reports that JF liaises with terrorist outfits in Kashmir, Iran, Palestine, and the Philippines — quite a surpising list of friends.
And then there’s this:
Finally, [the report] mentions a specific group, the Peoples Islamic Front of Sudan. Sudan Fuqra Hater tells me that there are many supporters of Gilani in Sudan. I will have more information on Gilani’s Sudanese connections in a future post. You won’t want to miss it.
And indeed you won’t. Keep an eye on the topic over at The Politics of CP.

We Westerners like to think of various Islamic organizations as separate entities. But they are more like a network. Dr. Phares recently compared them to branches of the same tree. And these branches will help each other to preserve the life of the tree.
always on watch,
As far as these extremist groups go, I think that's a pretty good analogy. I think that's where a lot of the liberals lose their steel re: the GWOT. They think we are just at war with AQ, but the network is a lot wider than that.
Here is the measure.
Islamism has killed the liberalism. It is dead. The present measure of relevance is simply this: what has it done to kill Islamism?
Le hero 'Roland'? Tres effective.
Le 'CIA' and Monsieur Bush? Inefective 'fools', non?
Le religion de la Paix? Non? Merde, alors!
Remember Iraqui journalist 'Atwar Bahjat' as her throat was slit, not to death, but almost, and the she was stomped upon, and THEN her throat slit and her head 'hacked off'.
Remember this when YOUR throat is slit.
Non? Who was 'Roland'? WHY is he not a hero today? A****** of the West, die in indignity.
Non? Why not?
Feh? Western pigs will die! WHY NOT?"?????????
In addition, I object to seeing Hillary's face every time I look at your otherwise decent site. I don't care if you get income from the advertisement, I find it objectionable and I protest.
I just want to say Gilani is wearing a really cool hat in the picture adorning this post. I think I'd look great in it.
