A Virtual Postal Strike

Postman and pillar boxUpdate 1pm EST: Still no email, alas.

Ah, the wayward vagaries of the Internet!

Our email is down (again), and has been for a number of hours. If you’ve been trying to reach us, be patient: with luck our ISP will have the problem fixed by tomorrow morning, and we’ll be able to respond to anything you sent this evening.

Where did you get that photo from? Good Lord, I think the man is an Englishman. I've heard of them from my grandparents. So that's what they looked like.

And don't tell me that's England? What a funny place full of pale pasty faced people who dressed in those funny old clothes. Well, thank the Lord for progressive Marxism eh? At least we've seen the back of that load of old boring dull rubbish. Vibrancy is what we have now, a bit of exotic colour. Ain't it marvellous.

If this sounds like the English comedian Tony Hancock's brand of ironic humour then it probably is. This is what English humour was like pre-1970.
