Innocent Prophet: Released

The Innocent Prophet
“The Life of Mohammed from a Different Point of View”

It’s a day late, but the much anticipated Mohammed movie by Imran Firasat and Terry Jones has been released. The Spanish authorities threatened to arrest Mr. Firasat and deport him to Pakistan if the movie were to be made public. So what will happen to him now?

And when will the “Muslim street” erupt in violence?

From the press release sent out by Stand Up America Now:

The Innocent Prophet by Imran Firasat, an ex-Muslim, and Terry Jones is an accurate historical portrayal of Muhammad, of his life, his actions and his teachings. It answers the question, “Why is Islam a violent, oppressive religion?”

The movie reveals that from Islam’s very beginning, its very foundation is based upon greed and the insanity of one man called Muhammad. His obsession with power, violence, money and sex has given us a religion that must be stopped because it is the greatest threat to world peace and coexistence.

And from the notes accompanying the YouTube video:

The Innocent Prophet is the film that will help Muslims know the true face of Muhammad, as the creator of the false religion of Islam to achieve his own goals. It’s time to clear all doubts and accept that Muhammad was not a prophet but was a mobster, murderer, abuser of children and a self-proclaimed prophet.

I don’t know how long it will be before YouTube pulls this video, but for the time being, here it is:

Obsession with power, violence, money and sex

"His obsession with power, violence, money and sex has given us a religion that must be stopped because it is the greatest threat to world peace and coexistence."

This is the essence of it all. What it all boils down to. That simple. What a great way to describe it. So totally down to earth.

So what's all the fuss about? These are just facts about the man's life, no more and no less.

He did what he did, and no amount of yelling or eye-bulging by cultural enrichers can alter that simple truth.

And OBVIOUSLY he does not provide "a good example" (Sura 33.21) for people to follow today.

Which is shown very clearly by the fact that his behaviour is now considered to be ILLEGAL in any civilised Western country.

Wow! This is a dynamite indictment of a God-forsaken religion. I have to disagree with the film-maker on one point though. "Allah" does indeed exist. We just know him by another name. In the words of The Church Lady, could it be...Satan?

Great point, 12:54 PM

Hmmm, an interesting slideshow but full of inaccuracies. Comparing myself to the likes of Robert Spencer, Ali Sina and the good Baron on this blog (and his loverly Dymphna of course) I know nothing. Yet, while watching this, I actually spoke out aloud at the computer, several times, when statements were clearly in error.
Worthwhile, but only 6.5 to 7 out of ten from me.

I watched for a while and gave up—boring. The "Innocence of Muslims" trailer was funny. Being entertaining gets your message across better.

My understanding of the early life story of Mohammad is a bit sketchy. I am impressed but much of the detail in the film, but some of the segment in this film between the childhood of Mohammad and his coming out as "a prophet" reads to me like an enormous interpolation that can be laughed off. That would be unfortunate. Is there anyone here who can vouch for the details of that material? How much interpolation is there? I had hoped for something that could be fully referenced to Islamic sources, but it strikes me that only about 60% of this film can.

I felt that the filmmaker gave too little time to the importance of the hijra and its affect on the evolution of Mohammad's own goals, and to its relationship to Sharia. In fact, there is little connecting the story of Mohammad to sharia here. Perhaps material for a second film?

Hm, I gave up too. Of course they can't risk actors' lives by actually really making a film, but the illustrations could have been a lot better. And each of the facts presented needed a clear reference to koran, hadith or other source. Each fact will just be knocked down immediately be deniers without that. Also, Terry Jones is unfortunately not a good spokesperson (appearance, speech).

Still, if it makes a few more people check the facts and learn a bit more, I guess that's something.

well well well ignorance once again rears it's ugly head. I am not Muslim but have studied it and it's effects on western civilisation. It was Islam that gave us astronomy, not astrology, mathenatics, art and modern science.lifted a debased western world out the dark ages by making the Renaisance possible. All centres of higher learning were controlled by the church and investigation of any type was forbidden. So where did the people of the time go to be educated? The major Islamic centres of learning and there libraries, the greatest in the known world at that time. So unless you still believe the world is flat and the universe revolves around the earth you are indebted to Islam. By the looks of the comments posted so far by anonymous this will fall on bigoted ears. But if you don't believe me then why not use your own abilities to discern truth from falsehood and investigate for yourself. Sounds to me like the filmmaker has a grudge to unload and is taking his own anger with Islam out in a dangerous and misapplied way. One last thing, if you aren't willing to stand behind your comments by signing them, then why not keep them to yourself.

Sorry Barry but the "science" of Islam is highly debatted! For example the zoroastrians were known as "stargazers" like people who looked up in the stars, so astronomy had been in existence a long time before Islam. I have so far not found any science that have anything to thank islam. Instead Islam should have a lot of scrutiny for its burning of books that they deemed "heretic"!
