Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/13/2012Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne says that Germany may demand that Greece leave the Eurozone in order to save the euro. The president of the European Parliament says that if Greece leaves the euro, it will leave the EU as well. Alexis Tsipras, the leader of the radical leftist party Syriza in Greece, says that his country wants to retain the euro, but may be forced to abandon it if pressed to implement further austerity.

In other news, Benito Mussolini’s granddaughter Alessandra Mussolini, an MP for former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s party, autographed two photos of her grandfather for another member of parliament. The photos were handed to her on the floor of the Chamber of Deputies by a lawmaker for the Northern League.
