Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/14/2012

Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/14/2012Nobody sent us any articles about the incident, but I’ve been reading news stories about the horny cheapskate Secret Service agent who brought disgrace upon his entire unit in Colombia and caused them to be sent home before President Obama even arrived. It’s a thoroughly sleazy affair, and now several members of the U.S. military have also been caught up in the Cartagena hooker scandal. What moniker will be attached to it by the media? “Doxygate”, maybe?

Across the pond, fifty-seven bags containing more than fourteen million Reichsmarks have been found in a bank vault in Greece. The money was left behind after the Nazi occupation during the war, and the Greek government is debating what to do with it. It was discovered more than a year ago, but now that there is talk in Greece of claiming reparations from Germany, the existence of the Nazi loot has assumed a new significance.

In other news, in an interview with a Dutch newspaper, President Abdullah Gül of Turkey called Geert Wilders an “Islamophobe”.

I would say that calling Geert Wilders an "Islamophobe" is accurate. He is "fearful" that Islam will take over his country and culture. He has a whole lot of evidence to back up his "phobia."
Geert's "phobia" is well placed.

This doesn't wash.
Many blind people, are capable of "going about . . . business without assistance."
And I mean . . . many.

Haven't read the details about the Carthagena affair, but does this mean that now he has to hire only muslims, or "blacks", in order to again turn it into some kind of a "racist" affair?

"Scientists tell us that there is nearly a 100% certainty that the “Big One” will hit California at some point. In recent years we have seen Japan, Chile, Indonesia and New Zealand all get hit by historic earthquakes. It is inevitable that there will be earthquakes of historic importance on the west coast of the United States as well. So far we have been very fortunate, but that good fortune will not last indefinitely."

Let's look at the time perspective. We are looking at a short time frame here, so if we open up and widen the space of time, "The Big One" can happen in two hundred years, and geological terms it would still be at "the same time" as the quakes in Japan, Chile, etc.

Because we have all these fancy sophisticated instruments to measure and know every detail of such disasters doesn't mean they all will happen within our lifetime.

For "islamophobia", look at all those countries which used to be part of the civilised world. What happened to them? They turned into muslim countries.

If it happened to them, why can't it happen to The Netherlands - if they say they will turn it into a sharia country?
