Sunny in Hijab

In her latest video on Sunny TV, the eponymous Sunny makes a novel proposal for commemorating the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. She suggests that American women engage in outreach to Muslims by wearing the hijab, which will help their Muslima sisters feel more comfortable in our country:

Uhm... how about just say, "No".

That works too.

This is brilliant. I love it! More Sunny, more often.

Plus, what Jewel said.

Hugs and Huzzahs for Sunny the Tolerant Chick who just happens to look great with underwear on her head.

Made *my* day, thankyouverymuch!

You should read the comments at her YouTube site. They just don't get it. Like Lawrence. It's funny. You know there are a bunch of leftist louts who actually think this way.

It does look as though she has the waistband of a cheap pair of dollar-store underpants across her forehead.

What makes this video so very funny, is what she isn't saying. Rather, what her own reaction to what she's saying is a scream. Very subtle humor. I like this a lot.

@Jewel, EDL buck, et al--

The reactions here are somewhat as Jewel describes them being at Sunny's Youtube channel (at least for the comments which manage to stay on topic): either one gets this woman's subtle humor or one doesn't. For those who don't *see* the clever takedown, the straight-faced insults, it might help to look at more of her work. Like any work of art, it deserves study.

This woman is a professional actress/comedienne. Thus, the seeming ineptness and poor elocution is just part of the stage busness one needs to master in order to seem to be an amateur.

For those who don't find her funny, or don't "get" the subtle take downs she's managing here, there's no translation I can offer that might permit you to see the reality behind her facade. Maybe it's like being color-blind; humor can be like that.

However, if some folks who are at home in a Western culture miss her point, that's an advantage for her: keeps her safer when those whose culture promotes violence and eternal grievance look at her work.They'lll never know she's having them on.

re the deleted comment: the Baron didn't notice the last bit, where it was suggested that fist will meet flesh in some unpleasant manner. I will continue to stress the long-standing rule re mention of physical violence in our comment section -- this is not the venue in which to express such sentiments.

This young comedienne is the best I've seen on the subject of Islam next to the ventriloquist who has as one of his dummies an expired Muslim terrorist (see the satire in even the written description - dummies for Islam?) If the West doesn't laugh this barbaric ideology back into the 8th century where it belongs, we will all end up crying as we did 10 years ago.
