Gates of Vienna News Feed 7/16/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 7/16/2011The involvement of Scotland Yard in the News of the World phone-hacking scandal is causing headlines all over the world. It has now become apparent that police complicity in the operation meant that official information on the extent of the hacking was downplayed or even suppressed.

In other news, the Australian government is spending $12 million on an ad campaign to convince Australian taxpayers that the new carbon taxes are actually good for the economy.

Oh dear! Taki Theo whatsit is a multimillionaire playboy Greek anti-semite, whose wife sits at home while he goes out with other women. Can he recognise 'nemesis' when he sees it??

@Taint From Tabloids Rubs Off on a Cozy Scotland Yard.

This is about so much more than phone hacking it is only scratching the surface of the state within a state and the shadow government that has had a stranglehold on the British people for decades.

The red top newspapers were merely used as the blackmailers clearing house the crass hyperbole headlines as distractions from the real political agenda and issues.

Are we really to believe that the Secret Intelligence Service did not know that the Royal families and Government ministers phones were being compromised. Which is it incompetent or complicite?

The British State resembles a third rate corrupt gentlemens club were the front yard is full of roses and a limp union flag, the threshold furnished by a subserviant alien doorman to give the corrupt members an air of superiority as they enter. While the backyard is the hell hole and killing ground of the indigenous peoples sniped at from the windows of the upstairs bar by the power drunk club members.

The scandel is at this time a members power struggle only being glimpsed through an unshuttered window from the backyard the hope is that political power spills out into that backyard.

Shhh. Don't tell Hesperado. He'll be so disillusioned. He's totally sure that the VAST majority of our leaders are well-intentioned. :)

@Egghead,

Right on cue The Telegraph has this headline -

Sir Paul Stephenson resigns with parting shot at Cameron.

Maybe they will turn their suicidal guns on each other.

Meanwhile Rebekah Brooks was arrested and spent the evening doing her best not to corrupt the arresting officers.

Will Rupert Murdoch sacrifice the Testarossa or will he bring the British establishment crashing down?
