The Facts of Islam

The Tennessee Freedom Coalition

On May 12, 2011, Bill Warner spoke at the Cornerstone Church in Nashville, TN. His speech was part of Geert Wilders’ event, “A Warning to America”, sponsored by the Tennessee Freedom Coalition.

This is one of the best presentations on Islam I’ve ever seen, especially considering that it was delivered in just under thirteen minutes.

Many thanks to Andy Miller, Lou Ann Zelenik, and the other members of the Tennessee Freedom Coalition who made this video possible, and to Vlad Tepes for editing and YouTubing it:

Since we’re in the middle of Memorial Day weekend, I’ll post this video again on Tuesday, to make sure that plenty of people get a chance to watch it.

To reserve a copy of a DVD of the entire event, including speeches by Steve Gill, Bill Warner, Sam Solomon, and Geert Wilders, email the Tennessee Freedom Coalition: info@tnfreedomcoalition.org

Short but powerful.
For some, it's hard to believe,
for me, it's even harder to forget !

Thank you for posting this but I must say that he is preaching to the choir.
Never the less, I found his slides to be illuminating.

It was warming to hear Warner's assertion that Western culture is based upon only two principles: (Video time point - 02:42)

1.) The Golden Rule
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

2.) Critical Thought

From the link: Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness. [emphasis added]

The reason for emphasizing "sound evidence" is that this reflects Warner's own insistence upon fact-based reasoning.

By subjecting Western culture and Islam to critical analysis, it is easily deduced that the whole concept of Freedom is alien to Islamic thought. The entire notion of "submission" and "slavery to Allah" promotes the sort of rigid, unquestioning control that Theocracy thrives upon and, as history has shown us, also spawns the ne plus ultra in fanaticism.

The major challenge confronting Western civilization is one that logician Bertrand Russell summed up rather tersely:

"The problem with the world is that the smart people are so unsure of themselves and stupid people are sure of themselves."

Please keep in mind that this maxim is not an indictment of the decision-making process in and of itself so much as it is about the intellectual depth which then arrives at those decisions with such fixity or unsureness.

Even a cursory examination reveals that Islam eschews individual decision-making in favor of predetermined law as set out by an elite of certain intellectual capacity over those of supposedly lesser intelligence. This is the germ of authoritarianism which blossoms so profusely in the form of shari'a law. Nor should this be construed as any exaltation of the ulema (body of Islamic scholars), that has commandeered self-determination from the masses. The abandonment of critical thinking necessary to elevate oneself in such a manner automatically infers a drastic degree of character defect.

Western thought and critical thinking derives moreso from the Socratic principle that:

"The unexamined life is not worth living."

Clearly, introspective or autoscopic thought are not encouraged by Islam. This is evidenced by how the door was shut upon ijtihad nearly a millennium ago. The questioning of authority, a foundation of Western scientific thought, is not just discouraged in Islam but is punishable by death.

Few examples better encapsulate the yawning chasm that separates Western culture from that of Islam or so capably explains the pandemic intellectual, scientific, technological and economic stagnation which persists throughout the Muslim world.

Furthermore, Islam’s rigid nature renders it brittle in that it cannot endure the disinfecting sunlight of critical analysis. No better case in point exists than the need for abrogation when interpreting the Qu’ran. The amount of internal contradiction and plain hypocrisy which permeates this central Islamic document makes necessary an even more arbitrary way of rationalizing these deficits.

Such a makeshift approach to reconciling fundamental inconsistencies within Islam’s most vital scripture reveals a hereditary trait of unexamined and unquestioning behavior which must serve as the key to unraveling the illusory strength of Muslim faith.

To date, we have let Muslims in the West and throughout the world have their cake and eat it too. Their congenital cognitive dissonance has been indulged like a spoiled tantrum-prone child. It is long past tea to begin making them answer up for the duplicity and double standards they permit themselves through the dualistic nature of their creed.

Misrepresenting a political ideology as a religion, calling slavery freedom, pretending that abject misogyny is protection of women, must be met everywhere with the same derision and scorn. It is not a matter of expecting Muslims to behave like Westerners. Nor is it any sort of misplaced hope that Muslims will adopt our ways of thinking and legal code.

It is a matter of holding the Islamic world to our standards and finding it so wanting as to forever disallow it the slightest credibility or place among us.
