Riot at the No-Burqa Mural

We’ve reported previously on the Australian artist Sergio Redegalli and his “racist” mural. Mr. Redegalli found himself at the center of a major controversy last year when he painted a “Say No To Burqas” mural on the exterior wall of his studio in Sydney.

The campaign to intimidate the artist and obliterate his mural reached a new level of intensity today during a leftist “anti-racism” demonstration against the mural. The protest escalated to the throwing of paint bombs and scuffling with police. Eight people were eventually arrested.

Here’s an Australian TV news video on today’s events, kindly YouTubed by Vlad Tepes:

It appears to be majority of anti-white hating liberal lefty morons, who are protesting & causing a problem. they hate anyone who will not submit to their views or attitude & practice the same oppression, violence, abuse they accuse others of. what a screwed up mentality, after all, it's only a painted mural.

A few extra bits for those interested:

The protester version of events

The police statement on who was arrested

I'm sorry to say I wasn't out there this time. However, it's interesting to note that the protesters claim over a hundred were present while the police (more accurately, if one looks at the video) said only about 50 were there.

And, if you want, read the comments over at Indymedia. Several are actually quite hostile to the article.

Thank you LAW Wells .

That article is nothing but a pack of lies. I spoke with Sergio a couple of hours after the incident

Can I get the good Baron to pass on my email address to you please?

I am part of the group that has the Petition against Marrickville Council running and we need help from residents in the area.I think Sergio has enough on his plate at this point in time to bother him with this
