Letter from a Flemish Mother to a Moroccan Mother

This letter was forwarded to a blogger on a Dutch news site. It was written by a woman in Antwerp to the mother of an imprisoned Moroccan criminal. The woman wrote the letter after seeing the criminal’s mother on a Flemish television news program.

Many thanks to Timo of the Dutch Defence League for the translation:

Dear Madam,

I saw your vehement protests in front of the TV cameras against the transfer of your son from a prison in Aarlen to a prison in Leuven. I heard your complaints about the distance that separates you from your son and the difficulties you have in visiting him.

I also noticed the media attention from journalists and reporters about other mothers in similar situations: they are defended by several organization for human rights and such.

I am also a mother, and I completely understand your protests and discontents. I want to join you in your battle because, as you will see, there is also a large distance between me and my son.

I work hard, earn less, and have the same financial difficulties in visiting my son. With a lot of effort I can reach him on Sundays, because I work all the other days, even Saturdays, and besides that I have my family duties towards my other children.

In case you didn’t understand it yet: I am the mother of the boy that was brutally slaughtered by your son, in the gas station he used to work for at night to pay for his studies and support his family.

I will visit him again next Sunday. While you hold your son in your arms and cuddle him, I shall only lay some flowers on his modest grave at the city cemetery.

Oh, and I almost forgot: you don’t have to worry, the state keeps a part of my lousy wage to pay for a new bed for your son, because he burned the two previous ones in his cell where he is doing time for the brutal crime he committed.

Finally, also as mothers, maybe we can contribute something to stop the inversion of human values. Human rights should only be there for the rightfully deserving.

So much for a letter from a grieving mother. Maybe this is something that we, in these dark days, should think about more often!

It is precisely this sort of moral inversion, as is so often displayed by Muslims and their Socialist fellow travelers, which could easily serve to ignite a blowback that may well make World War II look like a walk in the park.

This letter should be disseminated as widely as possible throughout the EU. It shows quite clearly the total and utter contempt the ruling liberal elite have for the ordinary law-abidibg citizens. Is there no country in the EU where criminals are not treated immeasurably better than the familes of their victims?

Zenster: "like a walk in the park"

After I read through the Biblical descriptions of the battles at Armageddon, and of the Tribulation, my summary was that it would make WWII look like a kiddies tea party.

And for those whose families were wiped out in the Holocaust, I know the enormity of what I am saying. But how else can one understand Mark 13:19-20 - "For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days." (Yokel's emphasis)

@ Yokel--

I respectfully request that Christian biblical passages not be used to bolster arguments against Islam on GoV threads. Put simply, they're not useful or to the point.

I say this as a Christian, and as one who has studied Mark (and the other Synoptic gospels) in some detail. That argument was pointed at Rome, not at Islam. The eschatology of Mark wasn't tailored to totalitarianism.

If one must use Christian-based arguments in this war being waged against us by the Culture of Death, then perhaps Dietrich Bonhoeffer's writings would be more to the point. On Christian terms, Bonhoeffer fought against Hitler's totalitarian nihilism until it slaughtered him. His words are on-point against this latest version of Totalitarian Death Cult.

There is a time and place for everything, including quotations from Christian scripture. It has ever seemed to me that the comment threads on GoV are neither an appropriate time nor place for what some of our readers consider sacred writings while others find them irrelevant.

It's all part of being as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove, Yokel.

I hope you take my remarks in the spirit in which they are meant. It is vital to remember that "communication is the act of the recipient, not of the speaker". Peter Drucker's famous quote, for which I haven't found an adequate counter-argument.

OTOH, Drucker could have been simply paraphrasing Christ, who warned his followers not to throw pearls before swine. Across the centuries, Yokel, that is the very same message as Drucker delivered in more secular terms.

Believers, agnostics, and atheists all: at GoV we're indeed a swinish bunch.

There are many overtly Christian blogs out there, equally devoted to the Counterjihad, which would appreciate your quote from Mark. Were you to cast his words in those places, they would be perceived with the respect and understanding you want for them.

Hate to say this, but this heartbreaking letter will not change a single mind - neither Arabs’ nor their liberal enablers’. I learned this first-hand when I made Empty Rooms, a doc about the Dolphinarium bombing – when over 20 Israeli teenagers were blown by a suicide bomber in 2002. You would imagine that a simple expression of parental grief would make people pause and think, but not. Most tellingly, Jewish film festivals were the first ones to reject the film as “not fitting” their “agenda”.

I wish the West would stop the mistaken clemency and re-instate the death penalty, it won't help the family of the victim but it will prevent the criminal from murdering again.

Im sad for the mother, but her letter will have absolutely no impact on a muslim mother.

she wont feel shame or regret that her son caused this pain.

she will only feel her own pain becuase the mean terrible infidels locked up her poor boy for just for exercising his rights

the right to kill unbeleivers where ever and when ever he wants.

And I must sadly second the views of the above two commenters. It gives us pause to reflect, but these criminals and their enablers are too blinkered to care.

We call them bleeding hearts. I wonder who they bleed for.
