Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/19/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/19/2010The record freeze in Europe continues with no sign of abating. Britain is particularly hard-hit, and if the forecast for the coming week is accurate, England will experience the lowest temperature ever recorded, below -26°C (-15°F). And this isn’t in Scotland or even the North, but Shropshire — close on the Welsh border, but in the middle of England.

In other news, the People’s Liberation Army has completed a highway to the most remote area of southwest Tibet, so that China now has the capability of moving troops quickly to the disputed frontier area with India.
