Burning a Koran at Ground Zero

The video below was taken during the demo at Ground Zero today. This guy has real guts, especially when you compare him with the whining journalists and useful idiots who shadow him down the street afterwards:

Hat tip: KGS.

This guy's got balls of brass. Burning the Koran in public is in a way akin to self-immolation as a form of protest. The person involved thereby sacrifices any semblance of a normal life.

The Unknown American Hero. The Every Man who comes to the aid of his country. This is the true Minute Man with the Spirit of 76. Not a cash gimmick, the real American Man who comes to the aid of his country and then goes off back to his life.

In an age of fake sports heroes taking performance enhancement aids, this man just is the raw natural manhood of America. This is the spirit of the frontier. This is the spirit that can not be contained. This is the American Man.

Islam can not defeat this man. Liberalism can not extinct him. He just is and will not be defeated. He does not accept defeat but insists on victory, now.

Listen closely for the taunts of "Come on, you did this today. Man up to it. What's your name?" when the subject of this video refuses to give his name. What purpose, besides self-endangerment, could come from this guy revealing his name?

The same guy who says, "Another fascist book burner like Hitler." also repeats the patently false meme spread by General David Petraeus that such actions further endanger our troops.

I am obliged to admit that winning the war against Islam may well depend upon defeating its Liberal fellow travelers. Since the 9-11 atrocity the levels of enablement provided by them has skyrocketed.

What is happening goes far beyond any perverse sort of Stockholm Syndrome. It is a self-hatred of the same type that promotes human self-extinction as a solution to environmental problems and remains every bit as flawed as it is dangerous.

I absoloutely LOVE every single word you wrote. It is EXACTLY how I felt watching that brave, dignified and beautiful man walk slowly and silently through the throng of swarming liberal filth.

Brilliant post Sir: Thank You.

God Bless you all.

Idiots. And again, we all know that if it were a copy of the bible, torah, or bhagavad gita, nobody would care.

Mary, thanks I appreciate it. I find the comments and articles here bracing for these difficult subjects.

I am absolutely convinced of it. It is the Left that has destroyed the self-confidence of Western civilization and replaced it with self-loathing and self-abasement. No serious struggle against Islam is possible under these conditions.

In addition, I regard the Left, rather than Islam, as the most immediate threat to my liberty and well-being.

I have argued before that the effort needed to defeat Islam could just as well be compromised if a partisan civil war broke out in the West. This concern still haunts me.

My stance was based upon the situation as it stood only a few years after the 9-11 atrocity.

With Obama occupying the Oval Office plus Liberals in America and Europe facilitating the enaction of shari'a, they all have assumed the status of honarary Muslims. I'll leave it at that.

Anyone, anybody, any person who is assisting Islam may as well be a Muslim. It has come to that.

Oh, and BY THE WAY, since when is there any excuse for fearing the consequences of offending or mocking our sworn ENEMIES?

What on earth has happened to us that we would even think in such a way?

If our evil Islamic enemies, at home or abroad, pull any shenanigans with the excuse that they are "offended" - then the proper thing to do is to strike back at the perps hard enough that nobody will ever think of trying it again.

I'm ashamed of Petraeus, but not surprised. After all, look who appointed him: our quisling in the White House.

To quote American colonial revolutionary Ethan Allen:

"It is bad policy to fear the resentment of an enemy."

In this particular case, Machiavelli said it best:

"And here we must observe that men must either be flattered or crushed; for they will revenge themselves for slight wrongs; whilst for grave ones they cannot. The injury, therefore, that you do a man should be such that you need not fear for revenge."

My own vote is for no longer fearing any revenge from Islam.

I felt uncomfortable watching this. It seemed like a gratuitous insult to me and i think we should leave that kind of behaviour to the Mulsims, after all, they are past masters at it. I'm not arguing that we should bow down to their terror, far from it. My point is that if they want a fight then by all means lets give them one, but lets fight on our terms and according to our own honourable and manly ways. Let's leave the reptilian behaviour to them.

Nick said...

Our political leaders refuse to fight in honourable and manly ways. On 'our' terms? Whose terms? Obama's? Appeasement doesn't work.

As for a gratuitous insult, that's exatly what building a mosque at ground zero is. It's about time Muslims got a taste of their own medicine, and were made aware of what the man in the street really thinks of them, and their evil, Satanic text.

Nick said...

And let's face it, that's all it's good for anyway. Warming your hands on a cold day, or wiping your posterior after you've had chilli for supper.

..the modern world is getting fuller and fuller of men who so hate [industrial] capitalism that this hatred is the motive of all they do and think. The would rather destroy society than wait for reform, and they propose methods of reform which are worse than the evils to be remedied - they care far more for the killing of their enemy then they do for the life of the world.

In this case, those who hate our freedoms willingly open the door for islam and its accompanying evils.

This is my current favourite quote (from Hillaire Belloc, The Great Heresies, 1936).

Read your history - our greatest advancements have come through our Faith, and that, as a culture, we no longer have.

We are in a spiritual struggle being mirrored in the physical world, but to speak of it is to declare yourself a religious nutter.

Only if you're christian or jewish, of course.

On the eve of WW2 people of the west by and large refused to recognize that war with Germany was looming, and consequently governments did not take the requisite action to prepare for it until it was too late. Understandably, people did not wish to repeat the horrors of WW1, and therefore wallowed in self-delusion instead. Many people in western countries were punished for insulting Adolf Hitler. "Peace in our time", "Mr. Hitler is a gentleman" are just a couple of choice nuggets from the era, that seem to rhyme intellectually with Obama's utterings these days. Today, people refuse to look the possibility in the eye that we are at war with 1,5 bn people - understandably. Koran burnings and their consequences might just push the truth out into the open.

end quote.

And I think you're right.
I agree with liberal positions concerning the impoverished and the tax system in this country.
But concerning American culture and Western Civilization, they are 100% wrong and destructively so.
The Left must be divided over these issues-- there has got to be a group of them who is historically literate enough not to play the multicultural game.
They do not understand the essential difference between the rule of fear and the rule of reason-- in other words, they do not know the difference between Aristotle and Mohammed.
And those who are Christians must speak the truth of their faith-- Islam is a profane faith created by a false prophet.

A commentary on the Ground Zero Mosque protest cna be found here.
from the piece John McTernan:
It is very interesting the way the media covered the 911 protest. There was not a word in the main media and burning of the Korans. The size of the protest was played down to the point I had no idea how many people attended. I did not see one picture of the crowd. The reporters said the pro mosque crowd was 2,000....I later found out the protest crowd numbered between 30 and 40,000! It is something to see how the media can coordinate to control the news.

Those who do not confront an imperialistic theocratic totalitarian movement backed by The Sword (now nuclear) are suicidally delusional.

You can hear them chattering against this demonstration of true religious freedom in the backround.

To cop\mpare The Resistance to the theocratic fascism it resists is the latest coy meme used to demonize those who love and defend liberty by the anarcho-syndicalist/socialist/Marxist/Islamic gangs of useful idiots in the West.

Please do not forget one thing:

ISLAM MUST ALWAYS BE PAID IN ITS OWN COIN.

Muslims will respect nothing else. This is why I continue to predict a Muslim holocaust. Nothing gets through to these jihadist cretins but overwhelming force and that is something Western militaries are quite adept at supplying.

Let's face it, this whole measured response nonsense isn't having the least effect. Only massively disproportionate retaliation will get the attention of these bloody-minded bastards.

Profitsbeard: A Fifth Columm of half-wits.

I suppose we all must be graterful for small mercies.

The only problem is that, by the time these Liberal morons are getting their heads chopped off by jihadists, SO ARE WE.

That represents a wholly unacceptable outcome.

If you want to continue to leave comments here, that's how it has to be put. No racist stuff. I've asked you before not to make egregious remarks about race.

We have homeschooled children reading our blog and comments. I do not want them to see such sentiments here. As I told you before, there are many other forums which would welcome remarks like that. This isn't one of them.

If a fireman puts the blaze out at my house, I don't give a fig what color he is.

I live in a county that is 40% black and it works well here. Not that there is no tension, just that such problems are discussed fairly openly among trusted friends.

I won't let such comments stand. They drive out people who might otherwise be willing to comment.

Last warning, sir.

At this time the video has been removed "by the user". Sure. Youtube routinely says that when they remove videos themselves.

I've seen other koran burnings online, but I was really keen to see the reactions of bystanders and hear the questions of the uneducated media around the event.

Sad it has come to this. But without the endless local and global islamic provocations, such an event need not happen.

Islam should become laughing stock. What most people don't realize is that Europeans and people of European descent have societies based on guilt, while Muslims based on shame(the Japanese too). The way you make them stop do things is ridicule them, their beliefs and their actions. Make them feel ashamed of doing them. You want to stop them from wearing burkhas? Ridicule women who do and men who support it. Make them the laughing stock of your society. And they'll stop.

Here, for example, I never saw a burka. And I know for sure that if I did, someone on that bus or metro would be cracking up about how idiotic it looks - loudly or not.

This is why Muslims will want to assassinate people who make cartoons, yet they just shrug off the guilt tripping that feminists want to put on Middle Eastern countries.

Zenster,

Of course, Obama pretty much took the nuclear deterrent off the table. He did not ask the American people what we thought of his doing that.

If dangerous enemies know your country has a nuclear deterrent and WILL USE IT if attacked - and not necessarily as a last resort either - they let you alone, and you end up not having to use the nukes after all. It worked with the former Soviet Union.

OTOH, if you assure the bad guys that they are safe from nuclear retaliation, no matter how much damage they do us by other means, then it is not a deterrent any more. Eventually, the enemies will come after you from so many angles that you run out of other options, and you may have no other choice.

Except, of course, for surrender.

But maybe that was Obama's plan to begin with.

Zenster said...

1389: Of course, Obama pretty much took the nuclear deterrent off the table.

Obama only thinks that he "took the nuclear deterrent off the table".

If America underwent even a single terrorist nuclear attack and its military was specifically instructed by Obama not to respond in kind it could well spark a coup.

The doctrine of response in kind is deeply seated in America's armed forces and any declaration by someone with absolutely no military experience that a WMD attack must go without reply − and that such a order would be obeyed − simply defies all imagination.

Eventually, the enemies will come after you from so many angles that you run out of other options, and you may have no other choice.

Curiously enough − and most likely unrecognized by almost all Muslims − Obama, Islam's supposed darling, is actually one of the greatest dangers to it.

Obama has ZERO military experience. Someone like John McCain is a veteran of the armed forces and understands the doctrines of response. Obama does not.

If America experienced a significant terrorist attack using WMDs, Obama's sole avenue of recourse could just as easily be limited to massive nuclear retaliation.

Such is not as much the case with an ex-soldier like McCain and Obama is quite possibly far more of a danger to Islam in that respect. The ineptitude and flagrant military incompetence demonstrated by Obama makes this situation quite problematic.

Moreover, the White House has repeatedly shown such obvious disrespect and outright contempt for America's troops that the chances of an order to stand down after a terrorist WMD attack being respected are diminished just that much more.

None of this even addresses lingering doubts as to the legitimacy of Obama's presidency. Under the strain of terrorist WMD attacks, respect and willingness to obey orders contrary to accepted military doctrine might decline precipitously and for good reason.

Through a combination of sheer folly and naïveté, Obama has opened up numerous avenues by which his authority to command can rightfully be called into question. The institutional memory of America' military extends far beyond Obama's relatively short lifetime. His ability to overcome reflexes ingrained by over two centuries of defending the soil of these United States is dubious at best.

Zenster, what made me laugh was when he said that Quran burning would make Pakis and Afghans join Al Qaeda and come to the US and blow themselves up. I didn't hear such a great case for the ban of Muslim immigration made by a 'conservative'. If I was a reporter, I would have asked him that since he took an oath to defend the 1st amendment which includes American citizens being able to burn books, shouldn't be in favour of banning Muslim immigration since it threatens that right Americans have?
