Geert Wilders to Ally With Vlaams Belang?

Well, this is bound to set lizard heads a-splodin’— Geert Wilders is seriously considering joining forces with Vlaams Belang:

In the interview, [Geert] Wilders also said that he is considering forming an alliance with Belgium’s far-right Vlaams Belang party, which he has hitherto shunned. Belgian Jews have also shunned Vlaams Belang.

[…]

Wilders also revealed that if his Party for Freedom — which occupies nine of the Dutch parliament’s 150 seats — runs in European parliamentary elections, he may join Vlaams Belang to form a larger right-wing bloc. Wilders had previously said he would not consider such an alliance.

Belgium’s Jewish leadership has boycotted Vlaams Belang, citing its “strong anti-Semitic characteristics,” and in an interview with Haaretz last year, Wilders cited this in explaining his decision to distance himself from the party.

But now, he said, “there are different sounds coming from Vlaams Belang. Some people say they have changed, even from the Jewish community.

“That they have changed their tune. Others say they haven’t. I have to look into it and talk to people and study it more. I’m not saying it is impossible.”

However, he added, “we will not ally ourselves with parties like that of France’s Jean-Marie Le Pen.”

Oh, dear — and here we thought Mr. Wilders and the Partij Voor Vrijheid were OK!

Now we find out that they’re neo-Nazis, just like all the rest of the Europeans…

Haha, I am going to thoroughly enjoy seeing the lizards freak out.

You beat me to it. I'll have to watch LGF for a day or two. I want to get video of Charles' head exploding in a cloud of cognitive dissonance.

Good news indeed!

But can LGF become any more hysterically deranged, considering how they already treated Robert Spencer? Painting him as a advocate of genocide and whatnot.

Nevertheless, it's fun to see them freak out. It's like an old cowboy movie: shoot at their feet and they will make that silly dance. Predictable as a puppet on a string.

Wait, I though VB enjoyed the support of Belgian Jews and were the only political party that supported Israel's right to exist and stuff?

If Geert joins forces with VB, he will do so at his own peril.
I, for one, won't be voting for him again.

No need to worry too much about LGF. It's becoming a small blog. Alexa consistently (for a month now) gives JihadWatch much higher traffic numbers.

What LGF does have, though, is an unusual amount of bullying readers who go to other blogs and in the most bigoted fashion declare their loyalty to their Great Leader.

As for Vlaams Belang, it is one of the last holdouts of true Conservatism in Europe. Rule of Law, free markets, civil liberties and real democracy. No wonder they're vilified by the EU elite.

HH, that does depend who you ask. The "jewish community" in Belgium in this case probably means far-left progressive types and completely ignores the conservative jews who have consistently voiced support for VB. The ones Pamela interviewed. Can't find the link because I'm supposed to be packing but I'm sure someone will have it.

To mash up Johnston's own words, LGF has nazi-derangement syndrome. I wonder that in typical liberal style, this one will get quietly swept under the lizard rug?

Apparently, Geert Wilders has updated his image of VB, making it different from the overall media image. Are you implying here that you have information on VB that Wilders has missed, and that is not media spin?

I you had trust in Wilders before, how come your impulse is to so hastily denounce him, and not to look into what he has to say about the matter, about what made him change his mind? What makes you think that you are better informed then Wilders?

Hey CS,

No winkies when dealing with Kim I guess. She appears to be a bit "rash" in her judgement of people, to say the least. The other day, I read her little less than cordial "entre nous" with Robert Spencer and Pam Geller (start reading: December 12, 2008 9:42 AM).

How strange! In that exchange Kim doesn't come out as someone who ever voted for Wilders. But above her whole argument is based on that assumption. This makes me very concerned. I hope Kim can come and straighten this out for me. I cannot imagine that she wouldn't be telling the truth, so it must have like this: first she voted for Wilders, then she turned into a leftist. So it's not about VB after all -- as usually.

CS: I read what you and everyone else reads - no inside information. If Wilders knows more, he should come forward with it. The days that we would trust politicians are way in the past.

Sagunto: I may be rash, that's how I am. Funny thing was, when Spencer made an effort to defend Geller and published her mail, he must have missed the part where she said: "My point was if you look at any family tree in Europe, you would be hard pressed to find a family with no Nazi or Vichy etc connections".
Uuuh, yes, that's going to make it much better. So, when he was trying to give her outrageous statement a positive spin, she doubled up and pulled a fast one on him. Hilarious.

So what's your problem with VB?

Kim,

Do you consider that a false statement?

Really? When did that happen?

CS: So what's your problem with VB?
It's all out there, no need to rehash.

CS: Do you consider that a false statement?
Duh. Are you for real?

Over and out.

I repeat the question: What's your problem with VB? If you have any problem with them you should be able to formulate it in your own words.

CS: Do you consider that a false statement?
Duh. Are you for real?

Just a few loose comments:

LGF likes to play the quilty bu association game. So De Winter has now been spotted with anti-semite Le Pen AS WELL as outspoke isreal-supporter Wilders.
I really would like to see LGF work that one out.

On Vlaams Belang i would say that, allthough i wrote a piece in there defence, i can fully understand Kims (and Wilders') reservations, because VB can easily be seen as neo-nazi-ish.

@Kim
If youre not going to vote for PVV, what are you going to vote for??

The only alternative is an elitist party (VVd, D66, PvdA, VVD), an extreme left wing party (GL, SP, PVDD) or an extremist religious party (CU, SGP).

Just curious as what you would see as the best altertnative for Wilders.

And yes, i should take better care of my posts next time!!

Only about 200 mistakes in about 100 words. Good show!

There's really no alternative out there, RdB, that's the sad part.
