German News Report on the Events in Cologne

Below is a German TV video clip reporting on events in Cologne from Friday evening through to Saturday evening. It’s in German, but Piggy Infidel has translated it.

Piggy Infidel’s translation is below the fold, with timestamps in brackets, starting from 36 seconds into the clip.
- - - - - - - - -
[0:36] The first large counter-demonstration began in the evening, more than 1,000 mainly young people wanting to show the right-wingers that they are unwelcome in Cologne.
[0:47] “It’s something positive that there are people who, for example, support integration, support open borders ….”
[0:56] “Because I don’t think it’s OK that they put on something like that here, the Nazis.”
[1:00] The right-wingers’ meeting began the next morning with a surprise, Pro Köln had invited journalists to a press conference and then unexpectedly switched the location to a ship . However, counter-demonstrators quickly found the new meeting place and then the bottles and stones began to hail down.
[1:18] Pro Köln had chartered the ship under the guise of planning a meeting of international lawyers; the ship’s owners said they felt they had been misled.
[1:26] Then the news reached the right-wing politicians on board that the bus tour through Cologne which was planned for that afternoon would not take place because the bus company had cancelled the contract.
[1:35] The ship drifted up and down the Rhine for hours, without a solution being found.
[1:40] When they came ashore late in the afternoon the Cologne taxi drivers had also decided not to transport the politicians.
[1:47] Finally in the evening the police used regular vehicles to drive them back to their hotel, then another surprise: they had to leave the hotel — the management doesn’t want to offer accommodation to “right-wing populists”.

The buses, the taxis and the hotel didn't want to offer accomodation to right-wing populists - is that to be taken at face value or are they afraid of personal injury and property damage from the mob? Either way, this shunning reaction doesn't bode well.

What a dreadful day of shame for Germany.

Here we have a gang of thugs dressed in black using appalling violence - including battering a jew - working in cohoots with law enforcers bringing mayhem to a city to prevent the freedom of speech. All in support of one of the most oppressive and destructive political systems - the death cult of Islam.

Doesn't this sound all too familiar? I mean,we could be talking about events from 65 years ago.

Congratulations to the new Nazi Germany, Your Fuerher Adolf Hitler would be absolutely delighted to see the blackshirts back on German streets again battering jews and allying themselves with muslims just as he did.

Old habits die hard it seems.

Europe is doomed, it seems. It's surreal how closely events mirror the fictional "The camp of the saints". Life really does imitate art.

Here is an excerpt from the preface to Bat Ye’Or’s “EURABIA”:

Broad historical movements that profoundly transform human societies are difficult to discern in the short term. They extend over decades, often centuries, and affect the social fabric in multiple ways that are scarcely noticed by contemporary commentators but become perceptible in times of accelerated social change. This pattern of historical development applies to the dynamic of Islamic jihad. For over a millennium, jihad has been a potent political force that has subjugated and in some cases extinguished once powerful centers of Judeo-Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and other civilizations in Asia, Africa, and Europe. This historical process can be observed today on all three of these continents. In the 1970s, jihad reappeared as a powerful factor in European affairs but, for nearly three decades, the revival of jihad passed with little comment in both popular and academic journals. European statesmen remained silent. The murderous September 11, 2001 jihadist attacks in America broke the silence. President Bush’s war on terrorism forced Europeans to take sides, while investigations revealed the presence of extensive and well-established networks of jihad terrorists throughout Europe. The Madrid bombing of March 11, 2004 heightened awareness of this grim reality. However, constructive public debate has been hampered by profound ignorance of the jihad dynamic and by the tendency of Europe’s political elite to continue to appease jihadist driving forces. This book describes Europe’s evolution from a Judeo-Christian civilization, with important post-Enlightenment secular elements, into a post-Judeo-Christian civilization that his subservient to the ideology of jihad and the Islamic powers that propagate it. The new European civilization in the making can be called a”civilization of dhimmidtude.” The term dhimmitude comes from the Arabic word “dhimmi.” It refers to subjugated, non Muslim individuals or people that accept the restrictive and humiliating subordination to an ascendant Islamic power to avoid enslavement of death. The entire Muslim world as we know it today is a product of this 1,300 year old jihad
dynamic, whereby once thriving non-Muslim majority civilizations have been reduced to a state of dysfunctional dhimmitude. Many have been completely Islamized and have disappeared. Others remain as fossilized relics of the past, unable to evolve.

For over a millennium, following the seventh-century Muslim military offensives against Byzantium, European powers instinctively resisted jihad - militarily when necessary - to protect their independence. The response of post-Judeo-Christian Europe of the late twentieth century has been radically different. Europe as reflected y the institutions of the EU has abandoned resistance for dhimmitude, and independence for integration with the Islamic world of North Africa and the Middle East. The three most apparent symptoms of this fundamental change in European policy are merely components of an overall vision for the transformation of Europe into a new geopolitical entity - Eurabia.

The decisive shift in European policy came as a result of the oil crisis of 1973 when the European Economic Community (EEC), at the initiative of France and the Arab League, established the Euro-Arab Dialogue (EAD).
Since then, the EAD has been in the vanguard of engineering a convergence between Europe and the Islamic states of North Africa and the Middle East. The EAD promotes a specific conception of international politics that determines Europe’s relations with the Arab/Muslim world, and with America and Israel. It has also formulated a vision of European history religion and culture, both past and future. Under the rubric of “dialogue”, the EEC and it’s Arab League partner created a formidable political legal superstructure that encompasses the entire Euro-Arab relationship and fostered increased joint Euro-Arab diplomatic initiatives.

snip

It is now obvious that Islam in Europe has not followed a process of Westernization; instead, the West becomes increasingly compliant to accommodate the religious and political norms of Muslim immigrants out of a fear of social unrest and terrorism. Policies aimed at the integration of Muslim immigrants and their offspring have generally failed. Many Europeans have perceived this profound civilizational shift. A significant minority of Europeans have responded by voting for rightist or even extreme right-wing political parties. Despite popular protests, European immigration policies were not substantially altered until 2003.

snip

Over the past three decades, the EEC and the EU’s political and cultural organizations have invented a fantasy Islamic civilization and history. The voluminous historical record of violations of basic human rights for all non-Muslims and women under the shari’a (Islamic Law) - throughout the past, and in the contemporary Muslim societies - is ignored, or dismissed,. Immunized from criticism by this fabricated historical construct, Europeans could engage in mutually fruitful business transactions and diplomatic ventures - particularly at the United Nations and other world bodies - with dictatorial regimes. It is in this context of international relations - pompously called “international legality” - that “old Europe” driven by France, the main architect of this policy, opposed America and supported Palestinian terrorist organizations.

She states: "for nearly three decades, the revival of jihad passed with little comment in both popular and academic journals. European statesmen remained silent. "

No longer silent . . .They are all overtly complicit. They will rue the day of their awakening to the nightmare their greed, short sighted lust for political gain and misguided guilt has unleashed.

If the Cologne mega-mosque IS built, it should be labeled 'die rote moschee' (the Red Mosque'.)

In Paul Fregosi's 1998 book titled “JIHAD in the West”, midway down page 22 is this haunting reminder . . .

The Jihad originates in the Koranic teaching and was practiced by Muhammad in his lifetime against Jewish and pagan tribes in the Arabian peninsula, and soon after his death against the Persians and against the Christian peoples of the Byzantine empire, Syria, and Palestine. Hundreds of years later it terrified Europe.

“From the fury of the Mahommedan, spare us, O Lord”

was a prayer heard for centuries in all the churches of central and southern Europe.

Let us pray . . .

AMEN

The anti-islamists in Europe should realize they are alone. They will be shunned, demeaned, ridiculed, and censored. They will be called fascists by the true fascists. I don't know if they will ever succeed.

The muslims have willing accomplices in the governments of almost every European country and in EU parliament.

I simply do not understand the mindset of people so willing to give up their freedom.

It could be the mass of people sense that they cannot win against the muslim wave and have simply given up.

You are correct. And it has doomed itself.

The posters here had best decide whether they want to live out their days in Europe as dhimmis, or to which country they will flee.

Europeans have been brainwashed by the Communists who run their schools, their news media and their bureaucracy that their culture is inherently evil, and not worth fighting and dying for. (Now, as a Jew, I rather agree with that, but I would not think that most Europeans feel that way.)

They have been brainwashed to think that there is no God, no afterlife, and that life is only lived for the here and now, that hedonistic living is the highest virtue.

And they have been brainwashed to believe that children and family are nothing but a plot by a repressive capitalist patriarchy to oppress women. So they have few children, and a large number of them are out of wedlock.

Childless people do not care about the future, since they have no investment in it. They only hope that the end of their civilization, when it comes, will be after they are dead and gone.

(0.00) The aim of these demonstrators in Cologne is clear - they want to stop the so-called "Anti-Islamisation Congress" in their town. (0.09) The congress, a two-day meeting of right-wing populists and radicals, is being put on by the Pro-Koeln organisation. (0.18) The right-wing group will hold a demonstration on Saturday in the Cologne city centre to protest against islamisation and against plans to build a new mosque - their opponents want to prevent them protesting. (0.29) Tram lines and roads leading to the demonstration area at Cologne's "Heumarkt" (Haymarket) are blocked by sit-down protests. In the morning it results in some hefty clashes.

(0.44) There had already been clashes between the police and counter-demonstrators the night before. (0.49) 10 000 people are expected to protest against the congress. The police have brought around 3000 officers from the region to take care of security matters.

(1.00) The police spokesman says he is expecting an essentially peaceful demonstration.

(1.07) "We have absolutely nothing concrete to go on that it will be non-peaceful, however we are very well prepared in case indivduals or indvidual groups use this as a stage for violence"

(1.20) The police also criticised the congress-organisers

(1.23) "We should also make it quite clear that Pro-Koeln have been very sketchy with regard to the information they have given us, this was also the case yesterday as they really played a game of cat-and-mouse with us. (1.36) The task of the police is naturally to defend legal, properly registered demonstrations, this is what we want to do but we are reliant on the information provided by the organisers."

(1.46) The Cologne police banned the right-wingers' anti-islamisation demonstration because of violence between the right and left-wing demonstrators.

I used to think the EU was being created to allow Germany and the RC Church to take over Europe without firing a shot, but now I think European countries are all just pawns in a sinister plot for Islam to take over Europe without firing a shot.

"The anti-islamists in Europe should realize they are alone. They will be shunned, demeaned, ridiculed, and censored. "

Yes, and they are shunned and demeaned by many supporters of Jihad Watch (and needless to say LGF).

Take a look at this Dhimmi Watch comments thread to get an idea of the nature of the staunch Anti-Fascist Wing of the Anti-Jihad Community.

There really needs to be a Summit Conference among the anti-jihad community to hash this all out, get it all out on the table, clarify where everybody stands and why, demonstrate for the record who is basing their judgments on evidence and who is not, make all the evidence everybody adduces a matter of record for people to inspect at their leisure -- and let the chips fall where they may.

The most interesting wrinkle to this whole tension within the anti-jihad community to me is the gymnastic flexibility of many GOV supporters who simultaneously laud and support Filip Dewinter & Vlaams Belang, AND exonerate Robert Spencer completely even though he has with profound unfairness treated Dewinter and VB in a McCarthyesque manner of insinuating that they are guilty of "fascism" until proven innocent -- not to mention that Spencer has refused to even criticize Charles Johnson of LGF on this issue. The wrinkle and gymnastics become more contorted when one realizes Spencer praises Bat Ye'or and Oriana Fallaci, yet there was Ms. Ye'or sharing the podium at the Fallaci Awards with the same Filip Dewinter whom Spencer won't let touch his pure white garments for fear of soiling them with Dewinter's "fascist" "connections".

Start sueing? I mean, it seems to me that their basic rights were denied them based on their political ideology...

I remember SIAD once threatened to sue the Danish police, because they were denied their right to peaceably assemble on two seperate occassions. I believe they dropped the idea though...

What I don't understand, is why noone sues, when their rights have been violated. I may be mistaken, but I've never heard of "anti-jihadists" sueing to ensure their rights. If they don't fight for their rights, then obviously they're gonna loose them.

"Police said 40,000 people protested against the rally. It had been expected to attract 1,500 people but only dozens made it."

Yet another indication that the vast majority of Westerners have been thoroughly converted to PC MC (Politically Correct Multi-Culturalism).

Those in the West who think more or less like us, who have woken up to the danger of Islam, are I fear a small minority throughout the West. The vast majority may be broken down into the following groupings (percentages are just my guesses):

First, I would say that of all Westerners (includes Europe, UK, Australia, Israel, and North America), approximately 2% are hard-core anti-Islam.

Of the remaining 98%, I would say approximately 10% are moderately critical of certain aspects of Islam but tend to avoid condemning Islam and then the logical conclusion of condemning all Muslims who support Islam. (This 10%, however, is not fixed, and many could become more intelligent about the issue as time goes along.)

This leaves 88%. Of these, I would estimate 20% are hard-core anti-Western Leftists (though only a fraction of them are actively seeking concrete revolutionary/terrorist methods).

The remaining 68% are thoroughly infected with PC MC -- which is kind of a "Leftism Lite" -- a watered down, decaffeinated version of Leftism which has infected the minds of people on all sides of the political spectrum (Left, Right and Center) and all ranks of society (Rich, Poor and Middle Class). PC MC, therefore, is dominant and mainstream, and since it more or less colludes with the more radical Leftists on the subject of Islam, the percentage of Westerners who defend Islam rises to 88%.

While PC MC is in many respects far less radical than Leftism or its more virulent progenitor Marxism about social transformation, nevertheless, when it comes to assessing the problem of Islam and the dangers it poses, PC MC is decidedly on the side of the pro-Islam apologists, for that apologia fits hand in glove with the prevailing dogma of its paradigm: Reverse Racism. Because the vast majority of Muslims are "ethnic" both in culture and in appearance, they immediately acquire a halo of advantage & privilege: they must be "respected" and protected, and they can never do any substantive wrong -- and the blame for any substantive wrong they seem to be doing is to be ultimately located in the evil white West.

Erich - I went and read that thread. Man, it's tough enough fighting islam, but to have to fight each other makes it worse.

You are right, we do need a summit to hash this all out and all get moving in the same direction. You can't fight an enemy when you have to worry about being stabbed in the back by someone you think is on your side.

Hesperado said...

Yes rohan.

One wonders what members of the Spencerian camp would do if they were in Cologne this week.

It's easy to stand back when you're thousands of miles away and can pronounce abstract positions at a safe distance -- e.g., Spencer has taken down at least two seemingly pro-Cologne rally articles that were put up on Jihad Watch in his brief absence (apparently by his new staff member Raymond Ibrahim) -- one by Diana West, another person Spencer with his amazing gymnastic flexibility (he should get a gold medal for this) simultaneously champions as an astute analyst of the Islam and PC problem yet from whom he tries to dissociate himself when she shows support for alleged "fascists" like the Cologne ralliers or a while back Filip Dewinter, using his standard defense of this by reiterating his fastidiously gingerly standoffishness to anything that has a whiff of having been rumored to be "fascist".

But what would the Spencerians do if they were there on the ground where the rubber meets the road, in Cologne, where off to one side are the dreaded "fascists" who oppose Islamisation, and off to the other side are the rabid "anti-fascists" hurling stones? What would the Spencerians do? Join the "anti-fascist" Leftists? Or turn up their collars and try to quietly hightail it out of town as inconspicuosly as possible?

Unknown said...

@Erich
After having vacilated for some time being willing to give Spencer the benefit of the doubt, I feel compelled to agree with you and Auster for that matter on Spencer's inconsistency.
Spencer has really no coherent policy views on Muslim immigration, tainted associations or other red lines that shouldn't be crossed.
Auster was right.

I was the only poster on this forum who consistently recognized the obvious, namely that the Europeans populace as a whole is the sole responsible and guilty party for the current predicament.

The overwhelming majority has no objection to Islam, Marxism and the stated goals of the EU directorate as their voting pattern showing the undeniable proof.

I was - and still I am - scolded even by our highly estimated authors, fjordman and baron for my callous perception on the European reality which is a cacophony of Anti-Americanism, a hysterical worship of Russia, a childish blabbering about an uprising in the future - which is all the more ridiculous when you see that the Commies have numerical advantage over our warriors.

I feel vindicated when I stated - to much of the horror of some posters here - that the European society is done for, we shall not force our views upon the majority which HATE us, DETEST us and call us fascist right-wingers.

One more thing erich:

"The remaining 68% are thoroughly infected with PC MC"

Don't go too far: I was reprimanded on this blog not because I said something offensive, vulgar or out of the line, not at all, the "TONE" of my post crossed an imaginary line.
The TONE! - can be un-PC nowadays..

Okay, the mass of European voters elect these traitorous socialists (including city mayors) because they're so heavily dependent on the State for everything. But, it's possible to be FOR the cradle-to-grave nanny state, while at the same time AGAINST the suicide of one's own culture and indigenous peoples, isn't it? So, it would seem that preservation of government programs and benefits for the people is not necessarily the driving factor, but rather the extreme reverence for equality.
