The numbers shows that Norway is now on top of the list of countries that have had an increase in the arrival of asylum seekers, and that Norway is in a unique position so far this year compared with other countries, which have ‘closed the doors’ after several years with a steady increase in the arrival of asylum seekers.
In the first six months Norway received 5,765 asylum seekers, compared to 2,949 in the first six months of last year. The Netherlands comes in second with an increase of 2,732 asylum seekers in the first six months. Even big countries like Canada, Germany, Turkey and France have seen smaller increases than Norway, according to Aftenposten.
The biggest reduction has occurred in Sweden, with Great Britain, Greece and Spain following in the next spots.

Norway's an asylum, all right. And it's run by the inmates.
Just a little detail comment.
I'm not sure there is a reduction of the immigration into Sweden (as the last sentence here sais). The Observer may be wrong.
Here is a translated page from a Swedish blogger (a politician in Sverigedemokraterna), with charts which show that the asylum rate January to June was almost the same as last year (children without parents, children of 17-18 years of age from the Middle East, shows a large increase).
Hardly surprising. You get more of what you subsidize.
What about Finland? You don't hear about Finland anymore. Was it absorbed by Russia when no-one was watching?
