Gellerupparken = Denmark’s Kosovo?

I reported earlier this month about the abusive treatment meted out to Greenlanders — who are Danish citizens by birth — by Muslim immigrants in the Gellerupparken housing project in the suburbs of Århus. The Greenlanders’ fellow citizens responded by hanging Mohammed in effigy all across Denmark in protest.

Now comes word that SIOE chapters in Sweden and Denmark are planning a joint demonstration in Århus on August 23rd in further protest of the racist treatment of Greenlanders by Muslim thugs in Gellerupparken.

Århus Demo

SIOE Sverige sent us the following email last night:

SIOE Sverige is joining with SIOE Denmark on the 23rd of August.

The full size image of the poster announcing the event is available at SIOE via the tab “Aarhus August demo poster”. Hit the tab to open the page and then click the image to display it full size. Or, you can click here.

Please distribute this poster across the web and blogosphere. Print it and post it wherever you can. We need to get the word out.

If you truly care — be there!

The news is that Swedish people are traveling to Denmark to join with the Danish.

SIOE Sverige has also posted a new video that examines the Muslim immigration issue in both Sweden and Denmark: “Baby Polar Bears and Animal Behavior”.

This is an excellent development. To my eyes the poster is perfect. It's always best to use the terminology of the left against them. Thus, calling the Muslims RACIST is a good tactic. (As well as being accurate).

It will be interesting to see how this demonstration is dealt with. Will it be a repeat of the Brussels demo that was broken up by riot police?

How much is politically correct speech tolerated in Denmark?

Zeke, this demonstration will definitely not be like the one in Bryssel. Danish cops aren't nazis nor is the mayor of Aarhus. My guess is that relatively few people will show up due to the somewhat dubious organization, SIAD. But the "autonome" (left-wing 'Sturm-Abteilungen') certainly will and try to provoke a clash with the police. (The muslims aren't so stupid to show up at a demonstration like this.)

Politically correct speech is tolerated in Denmark, but mostly received with a gawp. I take it that most Danes consider it some sort of convoluted irony or sarcasm.

The left no doubt will grab on to this and paint the SIOE as racists who are hijacking the the assault on Greenlanders as a way to push their Nazi ideals. Dammed if you do dammed if you dont.

A statement in a 2005 authorized biography about the queen (entitled Margrethe) focused on Islam: "We are being challenged by Islam these years. Globally as well as locally. There is something impressive about people for whom religion imbues their existence, from dusk to dawn, from cradle to grave. There are also Christians who feel this way. There is something endearing about people who give themselves up completely to their faith. But there is likewise something frightening about such a totality, which also is a feature of Islam. A counterbalance has to be found, and one has to, at times, run the risk of having unflattering labels placed on you. For there are some things for which one should display no tolerance. And when we are tolerant, we must know whether it is because of convenience or conviction."

That smear will undoubtedly be thrown their way. The thing is how much water the libel will hold with the average Dane.

Best case scenario, the accusations of Nazism/Fascism will hold about as well as they do in America. Leftists/Socialists have been calling
George W. Bush and those that supported him Nazis for years, but the lie hasn't stuck well at all with the average American.

Worst case scenario: The accusation of "Nazism" will be believed en masse by the man on the street like it is in Germany or Britain.
