Away in a Closet

Brilliant! Awesome!

Bad Manger Art
AUSTIN, TX - The Young Conservatives of Texas — University of Texas Chapter — announced today that they will be displaying an “ACLU Nativity Scene” on the West Mall of the University of Texas campus on Monday and Tuesday, December 4th and 5th. The group’s intent is to raise awareness on the extremity of the ACLU, and bring to light its secular-progressive efforts to remove Christmas from the public sphere. The display, the first of its kind in the nation, will feature characters that are quite a bit different than the standard crèche.

“We’ve got Gary and Joseph instead of Mary and Joseph in order to symbolize ACLU support for homosexual marriage, and of course there isn’t a Jesus in the manger,” said Chairman Tony McDonald. “The three Wise Men are Lenin, Marx, and Stalin because the founders of the ACLU were strident supporters of Soviet style Communism. The whole scene is a tongue-in-cheek way of showing the many ways that the ACLU and the far left are out of touch with the values of mainstream America.”

The scene will also display a terrorist shepherd and an angel in the form of Nancy Pelosi.

“The ACLU and other left-wing extremist groups are working diligently to destroy American’s rights to the free expression of religion,” said Executive Director Joseph Wyly. “We’ve already seen in Chicago an attempt to censor the nativity by a city government this week. It’s just more evidence that there is a War on Christmas being waged by the far-left in this country.”

Well, it’s a war that’s been going on for a long, long time. Too bad the ACLU doesn’t have anything less perverse to do with its time than going around the country sniffing for the least whiff of frankincense.

As for student efforts to preserve their traditions, the Wren Cross fight at William and Mary made Hannity and Colmes this week. And now these students in Texas are hoisting the ACLU by its own petard. I love this new generation. They spent the better part of their lives surviving indoctrination by moral midgets and managed to preserve not only their intelligence but their wit.

Amazing! Miraculous even.

Great post. The Gary and Joseph is just too much. The Marxists of the ACLU will not rest until Christ is out of Christmas, and we have something to thank other than God on Thanksgiving. The War on Christmas/Christianity/God is posted on my Townhall blog at http://douglasvgibbs.townhall.com
feel free to check it out, and of course you are listed as a link there and on Political Pistachio.

It's funny 'cause it's true.

Lenin, Marx and Engels as the Magi :D Very good.

Of course Marx, Gramsci and Marcuse would be more accurate. With Lenin as the sheepleherd, Engles the Angel and a Pali-Hamas style baby terrorist in the manger.

God bless them indeed, that's my own alma matter, and I was in YCT at one time. Austin needs all the conservatives it can get.

As a liberal Jew, I don't see the reason to antagonize minority faiths with displays of blatant Christianity, insofar as the government is concerned. However, when it comes to private businesses, it's their right to do what they want. Wal-mart wishing everyone a Merry Christmas- fine. Nativity scene outside court house- not fine. It is a nice gesture to have a menorah and a "Happy Holidays!" as well.

sphinxeguy--

Menorahs would be a great idea. And lots of blue twinkling lights, and dreidls and gold coin candy...why would that antagonize anyone and why are the Jewish students having some fun?

The 8 days beats out Christmas now, since it's been reduced from 12 days to 1.

This student display is a spit in the eye to the ACLU, which would banish any Judeo-Christian display of any sort. But they can't fight a parody...

If a school can perform the Vagina Monologues surely it can bear a Nativity Scene or a 10 foot tall menorah. But the ACLU police would be suing everyone in sight for that. It's how the ACLU wins -- they litigate until a municipality, organization, etc., is impoverished and has to capitulate.

Why should the ACLU set the rules for what may be displayed on the commons?

Baron, where is the post with the video of the Wren Cross being put away in a closet?

Yes, those young folks in Texas - the spirit is not dead. In your face ACLU lives.

On the Save the Wren Cross work, they have asked two of us, we little novice bloggers, to start a blog site for them and we have. It is new and it is in its infancy - baby warts and all, learning curve, etc. BUT, it is our way of fighting the secularization of our society locally and by extension, fighting the "softening up" of our society for Islamists. Once your culture's icons are gone - and the Secularist have none worth much - then it is easy for someone else to come in and sap you.

Exuse - on a bit of rant today and so very proud that you taught me how to link. :)
