Due to last night’s DSL crash, tonight’s news feed is a double-dose. Some of the items that were “breaking” news last night — such as Dick Cheney’s heart transplant — are not-so-breaking now. But here they are, anyway.
A report commissioned by the Australian government warns that celebrating the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign could be divisive and cause tensions in today’s multicultural Australia.
In other news, a group of bioethicists from both sides of the Atlantic has proposed that humans be genetically modified to induce them to act in ways that will help avert climate change. Since no other method has proven effective, the professors have made their “modest proposal” as a last-ditch effort to save humanity from disaster.

Dymphna: hello, referring to what I commented some days ago on islam and Spain, I have found a spanish vid on youtube which explains in minute detail the situation in Catalonia regarding Al-Qaeda terrorist nets, salafism, saudi influence and the incredible stupidity of spanish politicians regarding the islamic issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX8cflbdE04
It's truly stunning. An extremely insightful report on islamism in Spain. I can translate the text in a few days, but unfortunately I cannot insert it as subtitle due to lack of software. But I found out an easy method by which anybody can do it without knowing a word of Spanish. If you find it interesting, I can send you the full text as document so that after that somebody can insert the subtitles.
Hermes,
Vlad does the subtitles; we just need a translated transcript with time stamps.
Send me a note at unspiek(at)chromatism(dot)net, and I'll explain in greater detail.
