The administrative body that oversees the Falkland Islands has launched a program to grow more food on the islands, and reduce dependence on food brought in from overseas. Argentina has attempted to disrupt shipping to the Falklands by insisting that ships passing between Argentina and the islands must have a permit. This is seen as part of a long-term attempt on the part of Argentina to take ownership of what it calls the Malvinas.
Meanwhile, Turkey has broken off all business and military relations with Israel.
In other news, new CCTV footage from last month’s London riots shows young thugs attacking police cars with bricks, iron bars, and chunks of concrete.
