Another oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico has exploded and caught fire. The latest incident occurred 90 miles off the coast of Louisiana, on a rig owned by Mariner Energy. At least one person was injured in the fire, but no deaths have been reported. Firefighting vessels are on the scene.
In other news, refugees who have been granted asylum in Finland are finding it difficult to obtain permanent residences, because municipalities are required to host them, and few are willing to do so. Meanwhile, before the latest round of “peace” negotiations has even begun, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has conceded that Jerusalem will have to be divided with the Palestinians.
