Tonight, with installment #12, we end this week’s series of El Cid videos. Parts 13 though 17 will air next week starting on Monday, so that we wrap up the series on the eve of September 11th.
El Cid is a classic movie from 1961 starring Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren, and we are showing it to support the El Cid Project. The controversy surrounding the proposed Ground Zero mosque prompted the El Cid Project to propose a different way of looking at the “Golden Age of Al-Andalus”.
Visit the El Cid Project for more information, and see Part 1 for a fuller explanation of what this is about. Here are Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, and Part 11.
