In the wake of France’s decision to expel criminal Roma, Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out. He has asked the French to be tolerant, and to welcome people from different backgrounds, citing Christ as an example.
In other news, the new “Miriam” flotilla has delayed its departure from Lebanon after being denied permission to sail from Cyprus to Gaza. Ships may not legally travel directly from Lebanon to destinations in Israel, and the flotilla organizers had planned to use Cyprus as an intermediate port. They say they are not giving up, and will find another way.
