Colonel Moammar Qadafi, the Man of Many Spellings, has declared a jihad against Switzerland. The ostensible reason is the Swiss minaret ban, but one suspects that Col. Ghaddafi is still nursing a grudge for his son’s arrest in Geneva back in 2008 for abusing the domestic staff of a hotel. In any case, the EU is backing Switzerland to the hilt, and I’ll bet that has Khadaffi quaking in his Bedouin boots.
In other news, Greece must refinance some of its sovereign debt by May, or face grave difficulties, but Germany is balking at buying any more Greek bonds.
