Perhaps the efforts of Christmas Bomber will revive an old joke in a new form: “Is that semtex in your pocket, or are you glad to see me?”
To cap off your evening — and prove that our national security really is in the hands of kindergarteners — here’s a report that two of the plotters behind the Flight 253 operation were released from Gitmo two years ago and sent to Saudi Arabia to undergo “art therapy”:

Men Believed Behind Airplane Plot Were Freed From Gitmo
Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, ABC News is reporting, quoting American officials and citing Department of Defense documents.
American officials agreed to send the two terrorists to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an “art therapy rehabilitation program” and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials, ABC News reported.
Guantanamo prisoner #333, Muhamad Attik al-Harbi, and prisoner #372, Said Ali Shari, were sent to Saudi Arabia on Nov. 9, 2007, according to the Defense Department log of detainees who were released from American custody. Al-Harbi has since changed his name to Muhamad al-Awfi.
If things were that bad under Bush, what must they be like under the Apostle of Light?
There. Don’t you feel safer now?

If Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab had succeeded in his endeavor and had blown his mohamed (or whatever these idiots call their johnson) to shreds with 80 grams of PETN in his underpants, what could he POSSIBLY have achieved with the 72 year old virgin that was waiting for him in muslim paradise? I ask you!
Ralph, you fail to see the point. You see, where do the virgins come from? All the women they want to enslave and stuff aren't really virgin, so they're going to hell. When he'll get to heaven, he will have 72 Muslim virgins... And the relatives of those virgins will probably be in heaven too, which will mean he will get killed for merely looking at them. Just saying, Muhammad didn't really think this through right.
Oh, Baron, you are just so relentlessly critical of our dedicated public servants. Queen Janet (Napolitano) has reassured ALL Americans -- and I'm certainly willing to take her sterling word for it -- THE SYSTEM WORKED, for chrissake. Flying is still safer than drinking bleach. Really, it's time to let it go.
Besides, if anything really important comes up, the hopeful-and-changeful POTUS can be alerted on the 6th, 12th, or 18th green, and the necessary bowing and concessions can be accomplished.
Speaking of golf, I've come across something tat needs pondering.
Several times the left criticised Bush for playing golf in the midst of what they called major issues, and now they're saying that criticism of Obama for playing golf is just sour grapes. Beyond my initial reaction of "sauce for the goose", I wonder what the difference was? I'm sure there was a difference - perhaps Bush cut short his game when the problems were severe - but my memory is hazy.
