The Afghans Weigh in on the Motoons

The Danes and the Dutch are being lumped together now in the perpetually offended minds of the Islamintern. Danish, Dutch — what’s the difference?

Sorry, Holland! All the burkinis and veils and sensitivity will do you no good.

As long as Geert Wilders lives, you must pay!

From today’s New York Times (the Politiken of the USA):

Allah go boom!MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan (Reuters) — About 1,000 Afghans, incensed by the republication of a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad in Danish newspapers, marched on Sunday demanding withdrawal of Danish and Dutch troops.

The protesters, mostly religious clerics in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, also condemned plans by a right-wing Dutch politician to broadcast a film on the Koran.

Afghanistan’s Religious Affairs Ministry has called the reprinting of the cartoon as an attack against Islam. Several other Islamic countries have demanded that the film by the Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders must not be released.
- - - - - - - - -
The cartoons were first printed in a Danish paper in 2005. They gained little initial attention but were later reprinted outside Denmark, sparking protests across the Muslim world in which dozens of people, some in Afghanistan, were killed.

Danish newspapers reprinted one of the images again last month in protest at what they said was a plot to murder the cartoonist who drew it. At least two Dutch papers published pictures of the Danish newspapers, with the cartoon visible.

“We demand the … withdrawal of Danish and Dutch soldiers from Afghanistan,” said Mawlavi Shoaib, a religious figure and one of the organizers.

“Down with Denmark and Netherlands. We will not let anyone insult the Prophet and the Koran. We urge the Muslim community to voice their concerns,” the protesters chanted.

Dutch and Danish troops serve under NATO’s command in Afghanistan.

NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer told Dutch television on Sunday he was concerned about the repercussions Wilders’ plans may have for troops serving in Afghanistan and for Dutch people and businesses elsewhere in the world.

“I feel responsible for the troops in Afghanistan. If they should come in the firing line because of the film, then I worry about that and also express my worries,” De Hoop Scheffer said.

The protesters warned they would launch bigger demonstrations, unless their demands over the expulsion of Dutch and Danish forces were met by the Afghan government.

The Secretary-General of NATO is Dutch. Notice that he believes that Geert Wilders is responsible for endangering NATO’s troops in Afghanistan, and thinks it would be better if a democratically elected member of the Dutch parliament did not have the right to speak freely in his own homeland.

It’s come to this.

Actually Jaap de Hoop Scheffer refused to answer when asked if Wilder's movie should not be allowed. Other (Dutch) politicians dit make less than subtle threats to Wilders if he would broadcast the movie.

Sad indeed.

Perhaps it will soon be appropriate to consider employing the policies of the Assyrian Empire in dealing with Afghanistan?

“Thursday a spokesman for Taliban threatened to escalate the attacks on the Dutch soldiers, if this "offending" movie is released” - from Jyllands-Posten.

Perhaps it's time to make Kurt Westergaards cartoon an integral part of the ISAF forces uniforms... Funny thing though is that they didn't threaten the Danish soldiers directly (only politically), perhaps because the Taliban have gotten some respect for the Danish soldiers, and have given them the nickname “Those that hunts equally well at day and night”, and at every clash between the Danish forces and Taliban, the Taliban came out as big time losers, and their luck hasn't improved after the Danes got reinforced with Leopard II tanks, and showed the Taliban just how devastating such things can be!

I've come to believe that we may be making a mistake by staying in Afghanistan. It's expensive and I'm not quite certain that it's worth the effort. Sure, 'building democracy' sounds good as an excuse for military action.

But wouldn't it have been better to either just go in, destroy anything Al-Qaeda related? Or alternatively, set a hard deadline of, say, one year for democracy to prevail, and then leave?

In either case, leave the Afghans to take care of the rubble and the reconstruction. If they want our advice and aid, great - but then don't protest our civil liberties.

Pull out of Afghanistan and then just hit anything that starts turning Al-Qaeda/Taliban/jihadi from the air.

They have their Islamic Sharia state.

Built thanks to the short-sightedness of our leaders.

They can go mad on their own without any more of our help.

Let them stew in Sharia and see how they like it.

Three words: Target. Rich. Environment.

We missed that massive Taliban funeral procession, why did we miss this one?

THIS IS TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS!

How is it that nobody, Nobody, NOBODY, effing NOBODY ever mentions the nefarious role of Denmark's—now dead Islamic cleric—Ahmed Abu Laban in adding Fake Cartoons to the legitimate Jyllands-Posten group? The three images that Laban forged were totally incendiary and a much more likely source of the fury that ensued.

The Fake Cartoons

Yet when a delegation of Danish imams went to the Middle East to "discuss" the issue of the cartoons with senior officials and prominent Islamic scholars, the imams openly distributed a booklet that showed many more images -- not only the original 12 cartoons (and, oddly, some other unrelated satirical images clipped from newspapers), but three fraudulent anti-Mohammed depictions that were much more offensive than the ones published in Denmark.

[Emphasis Added]

Scroll down below the heading for "The Fake Cartoons" and you will also see a large sampling of drawings that graphically depict Mohammed in human form. Remember:

The entire controversy started when Danish author Kåre Bluitgen complained that he could not find an artist brave enough to illustrate his upcoming book about Mohammed. The newspaper Jyllands-Posten issued a call for submissions from any artists willing to take up the challenge. In the ensuing brouhaha, the original book was almost forgotten; it has now been released, and does feature page after page of Mohammed depictions.

Notice how there has been not one peep out of Islam over these blasphemous portrayals of Mohammed? Why is that? Could it be that the entire Cartoonifada was nothing but another tiresome and predictable round of perpetually aggrieved Islamic showboating?

All of this was a completely orchestrated manipulation of Muslims by their typically corrupt clerics. Even worse is how EVERYBODY—right down to much of the Blogosphere and GoV included—routinely neglects pointing out this blatant fabrication or corrects the Media’s insistent refusal to include any mention of such Islamic perfidy.

What’s more, Islamic history is filled with graphic depictions of Mohammed and I don’t see any Arab libraries or museums being torched because of it. In typical Islamic fashion, this is selective enforcement of their perverted shari’a law in order to suit the Muslim agenda. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Islam being insulted and EVERYTHING to do with intimidating Infidels and breaking their will to resist.

If we are going to make progress against Islam’s encroachment upon the West, our propaganda skills need immense amounts of retooling. The Arabs routinely run rings around us in the press—even without the Media’s treacherous cooperation—and it’s long past tea to change all that. While ridicule is a powerful tool—especially against moronically thin-skinned Muslims—TRUTH is the most powerful tool of all.

We are not using a fraction of the truth available in our fight against Islam. Our failure to do will be responsible for a much higher butcher’s bill in the near future, for both Muslim and Westerner alike. Out of misplaced politeness or idiotic meekness in the face of knuckle-dragging bullies, we are guaranteeing an increase in—what are otherwise—totally avoidable Western death tolls. Had Muslim criminals been dealt with swiftly and without lenience, perhaps Theo van Gogh and Pym Fortun would be alive and helping to thwart this tide of Islamic filth. They sought to expose the truth about Islam even as so many around them feigned ignorance of the obvious. Again, we are not using a fraction of the truth available in our fight against Islam.

If proof is required: Why is it that—whenever Muslims make the usual ridiculous demands about piggybanks, flags, church bells and constructing grotesque super-mosques—we never turn around and SLAP THEM IN THE FACE with their own horrendous violations of human rights, incessant deceit or complete and total lack of reciprocity with respect to allowing equally free practice of Western religions in their own lands as we permit Muslims to have in ours?

THIS CRAP’S GOTTA END!

In our civility, we adamantly refuse to jostle the teacart whilst our Muslim guests put their muddy boots up on the sofa and grind burning cigarette butts into the carpet. Yet, somehow, we manage to ignore hypocritical Muslim howls of outrage when we make the slightest faux pas in their own lands. Better that we immediately don hobnailed jackboots and begin an unmistakable demonstration of exactly what sort of reciprocity Muslims can expect for their constant antagonism than put up with another millisecond of this monstrous farce.

Let's get on with it. Do you think they have any more plastic Ronald McDonald statues they can drag into the street and set aflame? That's my favorite...

Seriously, Danes and Dutch, don't back down now. We need you to help fight this ignorance. The fact is that over half the Muslim world is illiterate. They rely on images and what their Immams say on Friday for their point of view. It is terrible sad...

Henrik is right. What do we gain by pouring more billions into that sandtrap? How does that make Europe safer??

The number of Afghans killed by NATO bombs and bullets does not have any bearing on whether Europe will survive.

Really, Zenster, this is too much. Did you even check our archives before you made this ridiculous assertion?

For a start, try this post, or this one, or this one.

Not only did we cover this aspect of the Motoon crisis, we were covering it before you even started reading Gates of Vienna.

So give me a break.

Also, need I remind you? Google is your best friend.

Democracy in the Muslim World was a noble experiment, but I think enough data has been collected to reach a conclusion. No one wants to look at the conclusion because the actions that are the consequence of a failure are horrendous.

It will not stop at "leaving Afghanistan to the Paks." It is about Jihad, not about rebuilding after a war.

Mostly agree about Afghanistan. I don't have a problem with the invasion itself--blowing up bases and killing as many baddies as possible seems perfectly sensible, but I think those sort of operations should be in and out. It might take multiple short invasions but that would be probably be cheaper in both lives and money.

I'm pretty sure there musy have been jihadists from the UK killed over there who might otherwise have done something here instead. So I think there is an argument for creating a jihadist magnet to draw in baddies who can be shot legally. I'm not sure that's a good enough reason given the strain on the armed forces though.

Baron: Not only did we cover this aspect of the Motoon crisis, we were covering it before you even started reading Gates of Vienna.

I do believe that you have misread what I wrote. My point about "fabrication" deals specifically with how Ahmed Abu Laban deliberately inserted those three additional forgeries in with the original portfolio of Jyllands-Posten. cartoons with the explicit intention of fanning up violent Islamic resentment where none had previously manifested in almost half a year since their actual publication.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I just scanned through all three links that you provided in your above comment and nowhere did I see any exposé of Laban's perfidy. As I noted, it's not just you. Rather, it seems that practically everybody who continues to write about the Cartoonifada does so without routinely highlighting how it was a totaly scripted event based upon falsified documents and phony accusations.

I invite you to please show exactly where in the above three links this fact gets the publicity it deserves.

It is also hoped that you will not take this as some sort of personal attack. I've been reading GoV for years and thought my appreciation for your work was self-evident in the cordial emails that we have exchanged. My previous comments have already demonstrated the profound respect I have for your tireless efforts at this site. At the very worst you may be habitually passing along the accepted Media version of this event without inserting what has been almost universally ommitted with respect to Laban's perfidy.

It is my firm belief that those Fake Cartoons were a huge driving force behind the Cartoonifada and Mainstream Media's purposeful choice to unanimously ignore this fact makes them complicit in the resulting terrorism and ongoing apologetic orgy issuing forth from the West. I'm also quite confident that you see how this description does not fit you.

None of that alters just how galling it is to see Denamrk's role in the Cartoonifada treated as a fait accompli while Laban's malicious handiwork goes almost entirely unnoticed. It's also pretty safe to say that your own consistently upbeat protrayal of Denmark's plucky opposition to Islam's tripe volcano sets you apart from such journalistic dishonesty. 'Nuff said.

Here in Denmark the part of the traveling imams is quite well known. Laban was not part of the first tour BTW.

The three extras were some they had recieved independently in various Islamic organisations. They had not been widely published. Two were quite gross, actually. They pretended that they had been published ('Kitman'), which added to the rage.

One of the three was not a cartoon, and had nothing to do with Islam or Muhammad. It was a photo from a pic-emulation contest in France :)

Zenster, I don't have time to go trolling through the archives. I picked those links because they were the easiest to find, and mentioned the fakes.

You'll have to take my word for it: with the help of Fjordman, Zonka, Kepiblanc, and other stalwart Vikings, I covered Abu Laban's role in the trickery. I remember doing it.

Zenster said...

Baron, I'm more than happy to take your word. I can only hope that you understand why I remain so concerned that Islam's direct hand in sparking the Cartoonifada be put on show at every opportunity.

This is not the first time nor will it be the last that Muslims employ kitman to try and cow the West.

The most egregious form of kitman remains how Muslims tell us that: "Jihad has always been a spiritual quest." This outright lie is the one that most needs outing as jihad has always meant "violent conversion" and nothing else for the vast majority of Islam's history.

I can only suppose that being half Danish, it grates on me more than a little to see Denmark being placed in the eye of a firestorm that was fanned up and heaped with tinder by Muslims themselves.

It can only be hoped that Denmark will finally comprehend the futility of sending foreign aid to Islamic utopias such as Sudan, Chad and elsewhere. How wonderful it would be to see these insulting and hostile Muslim pissholes abruptly cut off from their international largess.

Henrik, would you please be so kind as to post some detailed links about the travelling imams and their role in falsifying the original group of cartoons?

People everywhere need constant reminding of Islam's perfidy and how this entire Cartoonifada farce is largely a self-inflicted wound that Muslims now parade before the West like a beggar does his sores.

Zenster's point about our (the counterjihad movement in general) lacking propaganda skills is well-taken. It's been my criticism of Israel for years in not putting enough importance on their image. They believe they shouldn't justify garbage and lies by responding. This has proven to be a dangerous and ineffective way of dealing with propaganda. It is necessary to confront it and confront it with finesse.

I've said many times that this clash of civilizations is and will continue to be fought mainly in the media. Sadly, and I mean no offense to our brave military, but they are the props. It's unfortunate that we can't just fight a war like we did in WW2 and treat the areas where our enemies reside like we did Dresden.

I can't speak for others, but I am aware of things at work behind the scenes to ramp up this fight and push these truths into the face of the world. Brigitte Gabriel is one such person who is working behind the scenes. She has recently established a 501(c)(4) political grassroots organization called ACT for America. ACT has chapters forming across America to educate people about these truths and Islam and how we can counteract this influence. She's got 40,000 members in ACT so far and the chapters just emerged a month ago. There are other groups popping up too that will be forming chapters, so things are happening and if you want to participate, it's there for anyone to do so.

bingo, Bingo, BINGO, BINGO!

To all for whom the foregoing is not crystal clear, please form a line to the right for purchasing of a clue.

Bravo, deadbambi. Either a few hundred thousand or million Muslims perish now in a demonstration of Western displeasure or all ONE BILLION of them go extinct in an idiotically deferred retaliation for terrorist atrocities which have no possible justification.

For Muslim and Westerner alike, the butcher's bill increases with each passing day. The only thing that changes is the West's culpability for delaying what can only guarantee a massive increase in the final death toll.

Islam must perish. Of that there can be no doubt. It is imiscible with Western culture. All that remains to be seen is how many Muslims and Infidels must perish along with this barbaric ideology in order that our world can be free of such knuckle-dragging savagery.
