Islam in Europe: Rosengaard, an immigrant haven in Sweden
With a baseball cap tilted sideways on his head and a cigarette dangling from his mouth, 22-year-old Malek Hassan looks like any idle young immigrant in Europe with too much time on his hands.
Sitting at the foot of an apartment building spouting satellite dishes that bring foreign television programmes into immigrants’ homes, Hassan recounts how his family came to Sweden when he was six-years-old.
They fled Iraq following the Gulf War and settled in the heavily immigrant neighbourhood of Rosengaard in southern Malmoe, where foreigners, who make up one-third of the 280 000 inhabitants, are increasingly marginalised from Swedish society.
Here, Hassan said, “all young people become criminals. They have no jobs, no money. They have to survive”.
[…]
In recent years thousands of Iraqis have settled in Rosengaard — and Swedes have practically deserted the area. Unemployment and petty crime are rampant, fuelling residents’ frustrations and Swedes’ fears.
Few residents here speak Swedish or English. Women typically wear the Islamic veil, and defer to husbands when questioned by an AFP reporter.
[…]
Alf Hollsten, who owns a cosmetics shop in the mall, is one of only two Swedish shopkeepers left.
“When I arrived in 1982, there were only Swedes. Today, we are only two and the customers are surprised I don’t speak Arabic,” he told AFP, adding that while he does not worry about his safety he did move out of the neighbourhood years ago.
“The problem is that they live here as they live in their country. They have no job and they don’t actually look for a job,” he said.
An employee at the jewellery store next door agrees.
And why is Sweden the preferred destination?

“I think people don’t want to work because if you want to you can,” said Mithal Romi, a 41-year-old Iraqi who arrived in Sweden with his wife and three children in 1996.
[…]
“The state gives you everything when you arrive. Swedes are more tolerant than Danish people” for example, he said.
“The problem is they don’t want to work, they just want to get money and black work (under the table). This is not a good idea,” Romi said.

Tolerant is not the adjective that I would use. Why do people persist in believing that socialism is a good idea? The example of Eastern Europe should have informed everyone that socialism leads to economic collapse even in the absence of third world immigration. Is the West bucking for a collective Darwin Award?
“The state gives you everything when you arrive. Swedes are more tolerant than Danish people”
Yes, they are more tolerant of commiting collective suicide.
During the Depression years many people had no jobs, homes or food. They did not turn to crime as an alternative however, not on the whole as this young man seems to think is necessary.
I was shocked at the fact that 1/3 of Swedens population is foreign. Amazing. They can't go on much more like this.
They are not tolerant.
They are SSSTTTUUUUPPPIIIDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This article is strangely similiar to this one;
Yes, they both draw on Agence France - Presse

Lemmings, if you will.
Here's an email I'm about to send out to a lot of people, explaining why I can't post here for the time being:
-------------------------------
I just attempted to post at Gates of Vienna, and was told by an automatic message that our blog is suspected of being a spam blog, and has been blocked by Blogger.
The full text of the message:
“This blog has been locked by Blogger's spam-prevention robots. You will not be able to publish your posts, but you will be able to save them as drafts.”
And here’s what Blogger says about what we are suspected of:
“What Are Spam Blogs?
“As with many powerful tools, blogging services can be both used and abused. The ease of creating and updating webpages with Blogger has made it particularly prone to a form of behavior known as link spamming. Blogs engaged in this behavior are called spam blogs, and can be recognized by their irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text, along with a large number of links, usually all pointing to a single site.”
I followed Blogger’s instructions, typed in the visible letters to prove that I was not a bot, and am now awaiting a response from the Powers That Be.
In the meantime, I can’t even post a notice at Gates of Vienna bout what is going on.
If you don’t think Gates of Vienna is a spam blog (and assuming that your blog has not also been blocked by Blogger), please post a notice about what has happened. If you know of a way to contact Blogger or Google, please let them know that Gates of Vienna is *not* a spam blog, regardless of how politically incorrect it is.
That’s: http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com
Thank you.
Lets see if I can comment here.
I usually send them a notice here:
http://help.blogger.com/?page=contact
Send it as a bug report.
Then click on blogger is down.
That brings up a form which will get actual human attention.
Nothing else works.
M. Simon,
Yes, I have submitted a bug report to blogger. I'm now awaiting results.
I haven't gone the Google Groups route, because I tried that last time we had a problem and it was absolutely useless.
I'm trying to believe this is just a random technical glitch, but I'm feeling quite paranoid now and not at all rational.
A Zippy the Pinhead moment at the blogger diner.
Glad your here, folks. It makes me nervous that these things can happen.
To press the point yet again, we solve our problem with the Internet by actually meeting face-to-face at the public library each and every Thursday evening here in Vancouver, Canada. If the Internet goes down, if we can't reach each other across the world, we can still rely on Human beings in the flesh. That actually counts for something.
We'll meet again on Thursday in the atrium at VPL from 7-9:00 p.m. to talk, to trade books and ideas, and to look at each other and know we can trust each other when things go wrong and we need help in a tight spot.
You might not be in Vancouver. Well, you must be somewhere. Why not try making a date with some strangers at you own library? It's not nearly so dangerous as you might hope. We had a massive attack at our blog recently and nary a dhimmi showed up for the real thing. But our mates show up every week, now for a year and a half.
Don't let the Internet fool you: it is only a means to meet so you can meet in person and take some real action.

Pardon but "gatesofvienna" is a politically correct blog. We are doing here the right policy. Who are doing wrong are those leftshits politicians and intellectuels who comndamn us to a dhimmi status.
This happened to me a while back, and after a couple of days my blog was "released" back to me. A local liberal blog has also had this happen, and one guy I know went through the trouble of celebrating the event with a series of graphics.
I was freaked out the whole time I was locked out...here's to hoping your lockout was just blogger trying to find the dead blogs.
Baron,
Posted your mail on DutchConcerns.
Hope it's all an automated mistake.
Posted Barons message. The link would not work. Pop up said:

I'm a novice blogger and have only recently become aware of your site. Well done. I will be reading it regularly.

I placed a link to this article on two separate test posts. And was able to access GOV via link. Didn't receive the message you had.
I had done so on both my main blog , which is WordPress and also through my Blogger account.
I also did a Google search for this very post and I got through just fine.
A glitch perhaps?
Testing comments.
Baron
Please ignore the "Test" link above. Under "Links to this post".
The message "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." is no concern. Since I have deleted the test post.
Dag has a good point. The lines of communication/internet are definitely a fragile thing, and we must not rely solely on them and not have a back-up. If things do fall apart, we would all be cut off at the knees as far as an effective organization.
Just meeting in person every week or two for a few minutes would be priceless. Develop plans for scenarios- it's what is supposed to be being done by local governments, but is not. We need disaster preparedness, and the only people to turn to are ourselves.
Anyone near Arlington, Va up for a Library visit? :-)
We are using IBA and CVF blogs while we are out of action here.
See my IBA and CVF posts.
Dymphna will probably post in those places, too.
Dag, Falcon --
It *is* already happening. I have met with various members of the counterjihad, both here in the USA and in Europe.
A lot of stuff is happening, but a most of it is simply too sensitive to blog about.
That's why we're in CVF.
Sent in a bug report under 'Blogger is down':
Dear Blogger official,
It would seem that Gates of Vienna, http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com, has erronously been blocked as a spambot and as a result must be considered 'down'.
Please correct this situation ASAP, as GoV is NOT a spamblog, but a very valuable source of information on current events that are affecting our freedom.
Thank you for taking prompt action to remove the block.
Autonomous regards,
R. Hartman
Blogger/Google, this is a highly important and necessary blog, so please remove its blocked status!
This blog is about the defence of values of enlightment, freedom and ultimately our civilization. There are threats against it. Just ask the more than 10000 Malmoe citizens who leave each year; leaving a Swedish city which with increased speed will have a muslim majority. Now pork is banned in schools and gradually there will be more sharia influences in the town. This must be allowed to be discussed and if not our freedom is history. Many liberals quickly judge criticism against multiculturalism as racism, but that's utterly wrong. (I don't even think that racist blogs shall be banned but this blog is genuinely anti-racist.) Please, don't be a part of what's challenge freedom by blocking this blog.
Remove the blocked status now. Thank You in advance!
Magnus Andersson, GoV reader from Gothenburg, Sweden.
Suggestion (if not already done): Fix a back-up by importing the complete archive into e.g. Wordpress.
Than the most serious damage will be that Blogger lose reputation and customers if they don't remove the blockage fast enough.
It looks like spam status has been revoked. I'll be watching for new postings.
I'm still getting you loud and clear,GoV.
There are some trying to make all go silent on OUR front...
The current state is critical, and I ain't just quoting Amanda Palmer here.
