Profound Cultural Differences

Along with his regular prose posts, Canker is notable for writing sardonic and allegorical short verse on his blog. Yesterday he posted a particularly wry piece, “Not forgetting the basilisk”. An excerpt:

After he ate Hedgehog,
Basilisk said
That his practices
Were not to be criticised.

‘They are’ he said,
‘The result of profound
Cultural differences,
Not to be comprehended
By stupid woodland creatures’.

Go over to Canker and read the rest.
