Go to The Politics of CP and see all the information on Jamaat ul-Fuqra he has turned up. The posts are: Terrorists in Rural America?, Terrorists in rural America...continued, Jemaat ul-Fuqra, and Jemaat ul-Fuqra Compounds.
He has located a website which has collated all the known locations and activity of ul-Fuqra. In particular there is this great map of the USA showing all the JF sites, with a history of the criminal acts.
Don’t miss this one. Get on over to The Politics of CP.
Update: Belmont Club has analyzed the data in the National White Collar Crime Center’s report and has plenty of interesting things to say.
His analysis of Jamaat ul-Fuqra’s intelligence and ability in the “dark underbelly of America” puts paid to the idea that these people can be easily dismissed. They are a clear and present danger.
It behooves us to know where they are. Thank you, Politics of CP.

Irene -- yes, I saw that one on the map linked to above. It was planned in Colorado Springs, carried out in Tucson.
There are a lot of good comments on the Belmost Club urging a non-hysterical, legally proportionate response to these people. I think there's a lot of space between taking them lightly (which I would not advocate) and getting all bent out of shape about them (specifically the Red House gang) as a "clear and present danger". That is not proved. If you look at Appendix B of the PDF, it lists NO suspected criminal activities specifically committed by the VA group (just "training complex" which is the default suspicion). Many of the other complexes around the country are specifically linked to arson, assault, murder, etc. Not to say the VA kooks don't aspire to these things, but drawing "links" on a map is just guilt by association. If the gummint wants to make membership in a group criminal in itself, they can try, but that is pretty definitely against American principles. I think the FBI are keeping a close eye on thse guys, especially since 9/11. I wouldn't expect that attention to be particulary visible.
Wally, I'm definitely in favor of only non-hysterical, legally proportionate responses to Jamaat ul-Fuqra. Period.
Having said that, though, I advise you not to be too sanguine about Red House.
We have acquired a lot of new correspondents in the last week, some of them living in Charlotte County and environs. According to one of them (who hunts in the area), ul-Fuqra members routinely patrol the perimeter of the camp with AK-47s.
Might be true, might not. But it's food for thought. And remember, two of the Red House people were arrested for firearms violations in 2001.
