Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/4/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/4/2011The situation in Egypt has calmed down just a bit — everyone seems to be holding their breath, waiting for Hosni Mubarak to leave. The crowds are still in the streets, but the level of confrontation has dropped. The biggest news of the day was that an Egyptian journalist who was shot during the first days of the riots has died of his wounds.

In other news, British Prime Minister David Cameron has announced that Multiculturalism has been a failure in the UK. There’s no word whether the timing of his announcement was affected by tomorrow’s EDL demonstration in Luton, or whether it was just a coincidence.

As for David Cameron's latest words on multiculturalism, I'd love to see him square that with this: “British Muslims see a society that hardly inspires them to integrate. Indeed, they see aspects of modern Britain which are a threat to the values they hold dear. Not for the first time, I found myself thinking that it is mainstream Britain which needs to integrate more with the Muslim way of life, not the other way around.”

Yep, it was David Cameron who said that.

Saw Cameron on BBC TV news this morning defining Islam for the Muslims - during some talk he was giving about 'home-grown' (sic) terrorism in Europe - he said something to the effect that radical Muslims were 'perverting the true meaning of Islam'.

Sorry for this off-topic question :

Does anybody know what happened to the counter-jihad blog islamo-nazism.blogspot.com ? It has disappeared from the Web a few days ago.
