Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/1/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/1/2010The big news of the day concerns the huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana. The latest reports say the underwater gusher may continue for weeks or even months, and has the potential to devastate beaches, wildlife refuges, fishing, and shrimping from Florida to Texas.

In other news, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi says that he will “cut the legs off Israel”. Meanwhile, a “Watch Out for Prostitutes” traffic sign — which includes an appropriate silhouette image — is drawing the attention of motorists in Treviso, Italy.

Thanks to 4symbols, C. Cantoni, Fjordman, Gaia, heroyalwhyness, Insubria, JD, Mary Abdelmassih, Sean O’Brian, and all the other tipsters who sent these in.

Not really news, but relevant to the current news flurry surrounding Arizona's new law enforcement directives with regards to illegal aliens.

Immigration and Usurpation: Elites, Power, and the People’s Will

By Fredo Arias-King
July 2006

excerpt...

Before these encounters, I believed that it was a problem of either diffusion of responsibility, "creeping non-decision," or collective rationalization with those legislators, but that was dispelled the more of them we met. Most of them seemed to be aware of the negative or at least doubtful consequences of mass immigration from Latin America, while still advocating mass immigration.3

The familiar reasons usually discussed by the critics were there: Democrats wanted increased immigration because Latin American immigrants tend to vote Democrat once naturalized (we did not meet a single Democrat that was openly against mass immigration); and Republicans like immigration because their sponsors (businesses and churches) do. But there were other, more nuanced reasons that we came upon, usually not discussed by the critics, and probably more difficult to detect without the type of access that we, as a Mexican delegation, had.

Speaking of the Arizona immigration law. Here's what the Irish think about the "horrible" Arizona law:

4 Convicted in Holy Land Foundation Case Moved From Dallas Area to Special Federal Prisons

A frenetic burst of intelligent behavior from America's crime fighting sector:

Four men convicted in Dallas in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial have been transferred to special federal prisons where their communications and dealings with the outside world will be more closely monitored.

Prosecutors had advocated the transfer of Ghassan Elashi, Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain and Mufid Abdulqader from the low-security Seagoville federal prison south of Dallas to one of the Bureau of Prisons’ Communications Management Units ...

That cleared the way for them to go to the special prisons, where their calls are limited and monitored, along with all their mail, and they are required to use English when dealing with outsiders.

THESE ARE AMERICA'S TRUE ENEMIES. IT'S ABOUT TIME THEY WERE TREATED LIKE IT!

And people wonder why Europe is sliding into total ruin. Sheesh!

The author of that Irish Times piece, Lara Marlowe, is an American journalist, born in California.

Paging Conservative Swede...

The US should follow Ireland and remove birthright citizenship from its Constitution. Anchor babies no more.

Furthermore Arizona's follow up law which targets radical leftist divisive indentity group separatism and Reconquista crap from being taught in schools as well as dissallowing Mexican accent English teachers is a step in the right direction, defending the American Anglo identity.

One other note....Arizona's immigration laws are supported by 70% of Arizona citizens and the majority of the American people. Pariah state my arse.

SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP! IT LOOKS LIKE TERRORISTS NARROWLY MISSED BRINGING DOWN VIACOM'S HQ IN RETALIATION FOR THE SOUTHPARK MOHAMMAD EPISODE.

It's a failed attempt at a man made disaster, by a lone nutter, which has nothing to do with the Religion of Peace. Though if it turns out to be a Christian or Jew, then it is definitely attributable to those religions. But there will be no mention of Islam or Muslim in national security documents, not even Islamic Extremist, Islamist, or Islamic Fundamentalism.

Happy Ramadan, everybody.
