If you want to see a frank assessment on a major TV network of the frightening state that the United States’ war-fighting doctrine has fallen into, you’ll need to move to Canada. In the video clip below, retired admiral Ace Lyons talks to Charles Adler on SUN TV about the new U.S. army training manual, which aims to turn American soldiers in Afghanistan into “culturally sensitive” dhimmified sitting ducks:
Hat tip: Vlad Tepes.

Our soldiers are supposed to be trained to kill our enemies. That's what they're supposed to do, and that's what I thought they were doing. I don't want sensivity training for them. I don't want to have to kill my enemies myself. I want my armed forces to do it for me. If they aren't able or willing to do that, then they shouldn't be in the armed forces, the upper levels of the armed forces should be sacked, the politicians should be extirpated and we should be allowed to defend ourselves.
I couldn't agree with the Admiral more, about Afghanistan and Iraq.
In fact, I'll go one step further and say that I thought we should withdraw our troops from the Af in 06' when the Bush policies started to go sideways; crazy rules of engagement that put our NATO troops at a distinct disadvantage. It became clear to me that our troops were not being allowed to fight to win... Our troops were to "win hearts and minds" and were supposed to be these nice guys who just so happened to carry rifles but were really there to dig you a new water well.
This latest Army field manual is just a progression of the same philosophy. BTW, about 18 months ago the US Marines were advised not to fart or blow their noses in the presence of Afghanis because it is considered rude. Knowing quite a few young Marines I laughed out loud! Unfortunately, none of this is funny. It is pathetic.
The fact is, coming from someone who served eight months with NTM-A in Afghanistan, this training is important. Why? Because when you work in close quarters with Afghans, on their soil, you have to at least be aware of what's culturally normal and acceptable and what isn't. The fact is that in most blue-on-green incidents where the cause is known, it's inappropriate (and often ridiculously so) behaviour by "advisors". It's usually the victim who essentially triggered the attack, but not necessarily, which is why training like this happens. In the reserve, there's now an effort to inform Afghans about some of those differences. The training of ANSF requires building trust and mutual respect, which is what is going on here. Nothing more than that.
"It's usually the victim who essentially triggered the attack...."
Wow, warriorbanker! You are a good little dhimmi, aren't you?
At least when the enemy tried to murder my father in Vietnam, no one on our side told him that he 'triggered' his own attack because he 'offended' the enemy with his 'ridiculous' infidel behavior.
Here's a clue for you: The very existence of infidels anywhere in the world greatly offends Muslims and gives Muslims ample cause to violently murder anybody at any time - with earthly and heavenly reward promised to them by their fellow Muslims who pay zakat so that terrorists will wage jihad for them.
"A moderate Muslim is one who pays a radical Muslim to commit jihad."
