Police recently prevented a group of women from laying flowers at an apartment where Mr. Merah used to live. The women said they were not honoring the killer, but simply attempting to “restore dignity” to his family.

He eschewed all rights to dignity when he committed murder.
The police are nothing more than cidephobes. One must rehabilitate them!
I suggest a sensitivity course led by prominent homocidae--Jacob Zuma, Ricardo Ramirez, et al.--to cleanse these men of their prejudices.
Let us not forget that the homicidae are the vibrant future of the Francophonie.
