Culturally Enriched Domestic Violence in Oslo

Cultural Enrichment News

Our Norwegian correspondent The Observer sends the following report about the disproportionate increase of domestic violence among the “New Norwegians” in Oslo. Stranger rape is no longer the only crime dominated by the culture enrichers; now domestic violence can be added to the list.

The Observer includes this note:

This article was published a couple of weeks ago, and it deals with the domestic abuse of women in Norway. It turns out that 70 percent of the women thus affected in Oslo have a different ethnic background than that of the majority populace.

When you take the official numbers from the various assault rapes statistics committed in Oslo and then compare them with these latest numbers, things start to become quite obvious.

His translation from Nettavisen:

Ethnics account for 70 percent of family violence in Oslo

According to domestic violence coordinator Stein Erik Olsen, families with different ethnic backgrounds are over-represented in the domestic violence statistics.

Nettavisen had intended to write an article about the Norwegian Christmas holiday, Christmas dinners, Christmas beer, Christmas Aquavit and Christmas brawls in Norwegian households.

The hypothesis was that the number of incidences of domestic violence would increase when people have time off and when they consume more alcohol.

That’s not the case in Oslo. According to the domestic violence coordinator and assistant police chief Stein Erik Olsen the ‘Norwegian Christmas violence theory’ is simply a myth, on par with the myth that more burglaries are committed during holidays.

“70 percent of domestic violence cases involve families with a different ethnic background. The cultures concerned don’t touch alcohol and they don’t celebrate Christmas.”

And he adds:

“Our experience from Stovner [immigrant suburb of Oslo] is that the number of domestic violence cases declines during Ramadan.”

Olsen doesn’t wish to speculate why that is the case.

On the agenda

Almost ten years has passed since the national police directorate decided to increase its focus on domestic violence. Every police precinct in Norway now has a domestic violence coordinator. What previously used to be treated as domestic disturbances are now being thoroughly investigated with the aim of a possible conviction as the end result.

In 2005 a new domestic violence law was introduced. Paragraph 219 replaced the old guidelines regarding violence and threats, and more severe penalties were introduced for domestic violence.

The aim is not to get a reduction

The number of cases that end up in the Oslo City Court shows that this new emphasis has borne fruit. The number of domestic violence cases reported has increased from 633 in 2008 to 932 as of December 1, 2011.

Numbers from the National Police Directorate show a 168 percent increase in breaches of paragraph 219 in the period between 2007 and 2011.

“Our aim is not to get a reduction in these cases. There are probably more victims out there that need our help. Our aim is to uncover and combat domestic violence. Lower numbers in this instance would tend to indicate that the police are less successful and that we are less active in our work to uncover this type of violence.” The police chief assistant is also the leader of investigations at Stovner Police station. He confirms that more victims of domestic violence are coming forward and contacting the police.

He says that one of the biggest challenges the police are facing when confronted with other cultures is that they have different laws and different views on women than what is the norm in Norway.

“In some of the more extreme cases we get an insight into the amount of control the family have over these women, and how values totally at odds with Norwegian values are applied. But we have also increased our knowledge as a result of these cases, and not all the women affected are willing to tolerate this kind of treatment. But for many it’s extremely hard to contact the police. To report these incidents means having to completely sever ties with people who are their only reference points in a foreign land,” says Olsen.

More trust in the police

In the last couple of years more people have begun to contact the police. Olsen interprets this as a sign that more people are starting to trust the police and that the numbers of unreported cases are declining.

“When these women see that the police are prioritising their cases, and that society doesn’t tolerate it, more victims will come forward and contact the police.”

The spokesperson for the refuge for women in Fredrikstad, Kari Næss Omvik agrees with Olsen’s assertion that the police are beginning to gain more trust in these cases.

“We have a good relationship with the police. Our impression is that they have become more helpful and that they have started to listen more to the victims,” she says.

But even though society rejects domestic violence, it’s still difficult for the victims to comprehend what’s happening to them, and to break free from the spiral of violence.

From Wikipedia: "The concept of ethnicity differs from the closely related term race in that "race" refers to grouping based mostly upon biological criteria, while "ethnicity" also encompasses additional cultural factors."

Article: "Ethnics account for 70 percent of family violence in Oslo"

Good use of the term ethnic. Now, ethnic what? Ethnic Norwegians? Nope. Ethnic Muslims? Yep. Hmmm.

Now, how long before the 'ethnic' Muslims get offended and claim that 'racist' non-ethnic police 'target' Muslim men (you know, the same way that American Democrats have decreed that black Americans are unfairly imprisoned BECAUSE of institutional racism evidenced by the proportion of blacks in prison being significantly higher than in the general population?) Hmmm.

"He says that one of the biggest challenges the police are facing when confronted with other cultures is that they have different laws and different views on women than what is the norm in Norway."

Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas! Is that a DENIGRATION (!) of Allah's infallible 'ethnic' Muslim Sharia Law by a lowly infidel? Clearly, you had better avoid allowing an Austrian appeals judge read your 'sneering' opinion of Sharia Law!

By the way, now non-Sharia Law is the 'norm' which makes one certain that the 'norm' is sure to change to Sharia Law as the majority of Norwegian citizens become 'ethnic' Norwegians instead of non-ethnic Norwegians. A Norwegian Spring!

Makes my head swim just thinking about the conundrum of the above article's identification of foreign Muslims as 'ethnic' Norwegians which then supports the inverse identification of indigenous Norwegians as 'non-ethnic' Norwegians. Wow to the awesome power of the ummah where indigenous people are made foreigners in their own lands!

"'To report these incidents means having to completely sever ties with people who are their only reference points in a foreign land,' says Olsen."

Wait! Do 'ethnic' Norwegian women fear specific 'ethnic' Norwegian Muslim men OR the entire 'ethnic' Muslim immigrant community? Hmmm.

If 'ethnic' women may be allowed to fear the entire 'ethnic' Muslim immigrant community, why would non-ethnic women be forbidden to express the same fear and faced with being called 'racist' and convicted of a hate speech crime?

"In the last couple of years more people have begun to contact the police."

My sneering observation: People or women? Right. It is 'ethnic' Norwegian Muslim MEN abusing and honor killing 'ethnic' Norwegian Muslim women - 'ethnic' men who are instructed and exculpated by Sharia Law - and the worldwide 'ethnic' Muslim population.

"Olsen interprets this as a sign that more people are starting to trust the police..."

Another sneering observation: 'Ethnic' Muslim Norwegian women must rely on non-ethnic police and non-ethnic people to shield their new identities and addresses from 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegian abusers.

As 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegians enter the non-ethnic police and social work system, the system will fall apart because 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegians will act as Sharia Law enforcers for the greater ummah. Precedent, you ask? Well, jolly old England's 'ethnic' police have been known to pressure women against reporting crimes - and 'ethnic' social workers have been known to use computer databases to locate 'ethnic' women for the ummah.

"...and that the numbers of unreported cases are declining."

Sneering again: Are you serious? Unreported cases are impossible to track - especially when 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegians are willing to MURDER women who report abuse!

"The spokesperson for the refuge for women in Fredrikstad, Kari Næss Omvik agrees with Olsen’s assertion that the police are beginning to gain more trust in these cases."

More sneering: In one of these cold countries, 'ethnic' Muslim women would pretend to be abuse victims with the purpose to gain entry to women's shelters in order to LOCATE 'ethnic' abuse victims for family members to find them - and presumably reclaim them for the ummah. By the way, once a women's shelter is identified, that shelter is compromised for all abuse victims - and shelter employees - current and future safety.

"But even though society rejects domestic violence, it’s still difficult for the victims to comprehend what’s happening to them, and to break free from the spiral of violence."

Sneer, sneer, sneer: The 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegian abuse victims understand the danger and the cause of the danger. The danger is honor killing. The cause is Islam as practiced worldwide by mainstream Muslims.

It is difficult for 'ethnic' Muslim Norwegian women to break free from the spiral of violence CAUSED by Muslims practicing Islam.

@Egghead:

There's no mention of "Ethnic muslim Norwegians" in either article. Semi-fisking an article with what "I" regard as self-made quotes doesn't make much sense.

I've been appauled by worse use of "Ethnic Norwegian" before though, like this: "Ethnic minority Norwegian". Simply living in Norway doesn't make you Norwegian, on paper yes, but in reality no. Being Norwegian is so much more than a passport. In order to deserve the honour of being called Norwegian they should strive to become even more Norwegian than Norwegians themselves, completely assimilate and then you can start talking about "Ethnic minority Norwegians", otherwise it's just an ethnic minority.

Trickster.

As much of a whitewash as this article is, it correctly points out that violence on Christmas Day may have little or nothing to do with Christmas itself.

Occupy Christmas brawl, with video

Christmas killer in Santa Claus costume was a MUSLIM

Dear Anonymous: Your problem is with the New World Order which is intent on displacing indigenous Western peoples with Muslims (and Mexicans), rather than with little old 'Trickster' me writing searing sneering sarcastic comments about the sad state of affairs in Norway (and elsewhere in the West).

You may have missed the title of the article which is "Ethnics account for 70 percent of family violence in Oslo."

OK, the article discusses family violence specific to people who live in Norway - non-indigenous people who are called Norwegians by Norwegian law and international law - whether or not you personally accept those non-indigenous people as Norwegians.

And, the Norwegian police and social work experts quoted in the article clearly identify 'ethnics' as non-indigenous Norwegian people.

And, every fact mentioned by the article and its experts hints that the non-indigenous Norwegian people who generate family violence are Muslim men.

The only reasonable conclusion is that the author of the article - and the editor of the periodical (usually article titles are written by editors) - sincerely believe that 'ethnic' Norwegians are non-indigenous Muslims.

Thus, presumably the inverse is also true - indigenous Norwegian peoples are no longer considered or labeled to be ethnic Norwegians - and this new Western assignment of 'ethnic' identity is FULLY compliant with the 'norm' of Sharia Law.

Sharia Law instructs that 1) the entire world belongs to Allah, 2) Muslims are to re-claim the entire world for the ummah, 3) the ummah is to be ruled by Sharia Law, 4) Sharia Law treats Muslim men as a favored legal class over Muslim women and children and non-Muslim men, women and children, and 5) Muslims are human - in direct contrast to non-Muslims who are non-human.

If the entire world belongs to Muslims, then it makes perfect sense that the ethnic peoples - even the indigenous peoples - in every country are, in fact, the Muslims.

This is WHY it is crucial that indigenous Norwegians call Muslims 'Muslims' instead of 'ethnics' or Norwegians. Ahem.

But, hey, it's YOUR country - you know - until the Muslims OWN you and your 'ethnic' identity.

You absolutely have got a good point, emphazising that "ethnic" in itself doesn't say anything

"This is WHY it is crucial that indigenous Norwegians call Muslims 'Muslims' instead of 'ethnics' or Norwegians. Ahem."

- I fully agree. But, of course, the journalists, on the other hand, are following instructions to include the muslims in "The New We" by calling them "Norwegians".

"But, hey, it's YOUR country - you know - until the Muslims OWN you and your 'ethnic' identity."

- Can't be stressed enough!

Certainly it is vital that ethnically Islamic populations need to be correctly identified in the conversation about how to deal with problems of integration and immigration. I am not very concerned with 'fairness' to non-Muslim ethnicities, but I can still plainly see how obnoxious it must be for them to be lumped together with Islamic ethnicity.

Of course the real problem is that the West must wake up to the fact that Islam has never relinquished or renounced their dream of universal conquest...nor even rejected any of the horrific methods they used to advance it in the past. Sometimes it seems that Islam is somehow culturally doomed to only become viler as history moves on. The first step in coming to understand what Islam is must be to take a deep breath and look at Muslims as Muslims, not try to disguise the ideological roots of their actions against civilization.
