At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war.

ESW: Investiture in the Knights’ Castle in Rhodes, Greece
[This post has been removed at the request of the Knights Hospitallers of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta — The Ecumenical Order.]
Crusades were in every respect defensive wars. The Crusades were neither proto-Imperialists nor religious bigot who converted people at the point of their sword. The fact is Muslims were really gunning for them.Crusades were launched as a counter-offensive to the Islamic aggression in Christian lands.
Most professional historians and Crusades know about this fact. But unfortunately their work is out of the reach of the common public.
Here is a famous article by Prof. Thomas Madden , who is one of the foremost Crusade scholar in US Crusade Mythsadings
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff deserves this award. She has suffered mightily this last year. It is wonderful to see her honored in such a nice way. Pomp, ceremony and a change to get dressed up. What more could a girl ask for? Thanks Greece for honoring an important woman in such a meaningful way. We need positive things to happen once in a while.
Interesting. The people running these Orders and belonging to them are usually fairly rich and powerful, with a large number of connections in society. Rarely they admit controversial people.
This is tremendous news. Anyone wanting to find out more about the Knights of St. John or the siege of Malta in 1565 could do worse than read Ernle Bradford's book, which is now available on Kindle. If anyone visits Malta, do read the book beforehand btw.

I do not consider ESW or any of her opinions to be controversial. If her thinking had no grounding in the facts, then perhaps you could call her controversial. But there is no controversy about her research and her assertions.
@goethechosemercy The point is not her or what her write and say (I agree with her) but the fact a group old as this, with so many influential people inside, accept her in the middle of her fight is indicative of something maturing in Europe.
