Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/13/2011The real-life “Camp of the Saints” continues to unfold in the Mediterranean, with Italy bearing the brunt of culture enrichment while the rest of Europe watches in trepidation.

Another migrant boat was wrecked, this one off the coast of the island of Pantelleria, just south of Sicily. Two women were killed. It is estimated that since the crisis began, about 800 people have died at sea while crossing from North Africa. The PVV has demanded that the Netherlands re-establish border control to keep out the Tunisian refugees who have been given temporary residence permits by the Italians.

In other news, “unregistered” Christians in Azerbaijan are being threatened with arrest if they meet in groups, even just to pray. The government is determined to crack down on evangelical groups that are not officially licensed by the state.

Meanwhile, police in Yemen fired on a group of army defectors, killing seven of them.
