Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/12/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/12/2011I missed the “Camp of the Saints” update again tonight, but the Mediterranean immigration news hasn’t slowed down a bit. More boat people landed at Lampedusa, and a boat with 116 refugees was rescued by the Maltese. A dead woman was found among the passengers on the boat . Due to the obstruction of France and Germany, the Italian foreign minister has publicly voiced doubts about the value of remaining in the European Union.

In other news, last week’s school shooter in Rio de Janeiro is now believed to have been associated with various Islamic terror groups. A scrapbook belonging to Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, who murdered twelve people before killing himself, shows that he was linked to or joined a group of Muslim radicals in Rio.

Meanwhile, former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak suffered a heart attack during (or just before, depending on the news source) police questioning. He is now being treated in a hospital in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Also, China says it will continue to invest in Spanish government bonds and savings banks. It says that Spain is “China’s best friend in Europe.”

On a side note, an Ethiopian maid in Dubai was repeatedly abused by her owner employer, and eventually snapped. She grabbed a knife and severed her master’s genitals, and is now in police custody.

I wrote an interesting (well, in my humble opinion, anyway) article on the crisis on Lampedusa at The New Knighthood. Thanks to the great staff at Gates of Vienna for keeping us informed about the growing Jihadist threat to freedom in the West. Keep it up!

Meanwhile, France is slowly but surely turning into a totalitarian police state, working on laws to (1) permit immediate, unjustified psychatrical emprisonment, anywhere and anytime, and (2) forbid all declared 1st-class weapons.
