New York Mayor Bloomberg has expressed his displeasure with Rep. Peter King, who has announced his intention to hold hearings on radical Islam when the Republicans assume control of the House next month. Mr. Bloomberg thinks such hearings are “not appropriate”, but he might want to reconsider, given that a recent Pew Research Center poll shows that even “moderate” Muslims entertain extremist beliefs.
In other news, more than 200 Shi’ites were arrested in Malaysia for breaching Sunni law on Islamic practices.
