Turkey Puts Pressure on the Netherlands

Our Flemish correspondent VH has translated an article from De Volkskrant about the Turkish government’s displeasure with the new Dutch government, which enjoys the support of Geert Wilders and the PVV.

What I find particularly chilling in this article is the following phrase: “…there are 140 Turkish imams [in the Netherlands], who are paid by the Turkish government”.

Turkey calls the Netherlands on the carpet

[October 20, 2010] On Monday the Turkish government called the Dutch chargé d’affaires in Ankara on the carpet over the Dutch coalition agreement. Ankara is concerned about the support of Geert Wilders’ PVV for the government, and the parts of the government agreement that affect the Turks.

This is according to insiders in the Turkish capital. Among other things, Ankara wants more clarification on government plans to restrict social security for Turks who have returned to their homeland.

The Turkish government also wants to know how serious the government’s intention is to commit itself to the adjustment of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Turkey. A court in Rotterdam recently ruled that the obligation to integrate for Turks is in conflict with that convention.

The [Dutch] state has appealed against that decision. But if on appeal it is confirmed that the integration requirement is in conflict with the treaty, the government should focus on the adaptation of it, in order to demand also the obligation for the Turks to integrate.

“We also received questions from the Turks about the views of Wilders on Islam,” said a Dutch diplomat. “But at that point we have a very clear story. These are positions that are not shared by the Dutch government. This is also in an annex to the support-agreement. We then say that in the Netherlands there are more than 400 mosques and that there are 140 Turkish imams, who are paid by the Turkish government.”

The Turkish government summoned the second-in-command from the embassy, as the ambassador is in the Hague at the moment.

How's that?

" A court in Rotterdam recently ruled that the obligation to integrate for Turks is in conflict with that convention."

I'm confused. I thought integration/assimilation is a violation of Muslim human rights?

Now, for this:

"We then say that in the Netherlands there are more than 400 mosques and that there are 140 Turkish imams, who are paid by the Turkish government.”

I wonder how many Dutch churches there are in Turkey and how many Christian clerics are on the Dutch payroll?

Any?

These day too many administrations are too busy minding every-one elses business and have no time for thier own,as it seems geert can not be elected as the turks do not like it,in my view a clear case for the finger. As the eussr has since the nineties ,had an agreement with the "arab league of europe"stating that there is no compulsion upon any muslim to "integrate"can colonise large parts of our cities and live according to thier own laws and conventions, and retain all manifestations of thier culture, talk of this kind can only be public relations,to keep the indigenous population quiet,in return for this largesse the muslim promises not to kill us,a protocol that has been completely ignored,in line with the koranic manifesto. How can a set of university educated "leaders"who never tire of publicising thier academic achievements and credentials,be so mind-numbingly stupid?

As the Turkish Prime Minister said: "The mosques are our barracks, the minarets our bayonets, the domes our helmets, and the believers our soldiers."

They should have sent Geert over instead.

Anyone employed by a foreign government should be required to register as a foreign agent and should be treated as a spy and an agent provocateur. There is no reason for any Western country to allow these foreign trouble makers to operate with impunity within our nations. They need to be identified, labeled, marked, and treated with hostility.
