A bit of history from my favorite “Economics for Fun” blog, The Conspiracy to Keep You Poor and Stupid:
THE YEAR IS 1947… Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.- - - - - - - - -
However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:
Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer
See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses?
The man has just explained the whole phenomenon of all those people who came of age in the 60s and made such a royal muck of things. I knew it! Surely, I thought, there is a simple answer out there for such a huge evil.
Alas, these creatures are still with us for a while yet and then they will fade...unless...unless...what if the UFO comes back? Ah, no...pity the poor sheep and jackasses.
Of course, there is always the other side of the story. Boring.

that explains everything.

Having had the acquaintance of both types of animals and at least one of their putative political offspring, there is a difference.
Donkeys and mules are far more intelligent than Democrats.
"Donkeys and mules are far more intelligent than Democrats."
That may well be true, but nonetheless, the Democrats *are* the Partisans of the Ass.
ROF-LOL!!!!
I may just have to 'swipe' this!
Will give you credit -though..:-)

@Christian Soldier--
The link at the end of my post is to a Snopes discussion. You and I must lead sheltered lives because this little gem went 'round the viral circle of the internet via email back in 2006. Snopes also gives the version that uses Republican names in place of the ones on my list.
And most unhumorously of all, it shows the actual birth dates of these dudes, the reality of which does not correspond to the parallel world of political humor.
As a full-blooded Irish woman I'll have to admit my true colors here:
Who cares if it's the truth as long as it's funny??
Or, to put it another way (quoting the late John Gardner):
"Since the truth is ultimately unknowable, what matters is not what is true, but what is entertaining."
That may be a paraphrase. I haven't read the book in more than thirty years.

Reminds me of that still-born sheep-baby with a human face in Turkey recently.
