Update: A reader supplies this interesting information about Södertälje:
Regarding your story today on the Mayor of Södertälje, it might help if you pointed out to your readers this:
Actually the town of Södertälje has fared so well because the immigrants there are mostly Christian Assyrians/Syriacs that are fleeing Islamic persecution from Iraq/Turkey etc. Demographically the town is probably something like 70% Christian Syriacs. These people share common religious beliefs as the west and are not there to cause trouble. If the town was 70% Muslim I think we would have a completely different story here.
Back in February Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden endorsed Barack Hussein Obama for President of the United States. He looked into Obama’s heart, and what he found there seemed so similar to his own party’s policies that he had no choice but to get behind B. Hussein.
It’s a bit, shall we say, inappropriate for the head of an elected government to make campaign endorsements for a candidate and party of a different country.
But leave that little indelicacy aside for a moment, and consider the fact that Barack Hussein Obama (and certain members of the United States Congress) have returned the favor by expressing their admiration for Sweden’s immigration policies.
Ah, yes — Sweden the Model.
And all this just after the Swedish MSM has begun a public debate about the wisdom of the country’s current immigration practices. What had been hitherto all but unsayable is now out in the open, and ordinary Swedes — who know all too well that the light of Multiculturalism has failed — can read in their newspapers actual heresy, journalists questioning the rationale behind mass importation of Third World immigrants into the country.
And now the American lawmakers choose this particular historical moment to admire Södertälje.
Great timing, guys.
From The Local:
US Congress praises Södertälje mayor
Södertälje mayor Anders Lago received praise while in Washington this week from US presidential candidate Barak [sic] Obama and other members of congress for how well his city has handled its influx of Iraqi refugees.
Lago had a chance to speak with Obama on Tuesday ahead of the Swedish mayor’s scheduled appearance on Capitol Hill Thursday to discuss the Iraqi refugee crisis.
“He said word for word that he was ashamed that the United States didn’t take greater responsibility for Iraqi refugees. Then he praised Sweden and Södertälje for how we’ve dealt with the issue,” Lago told the TT news agency.
Södertälje, a town of 80,000 residents, has taken in more Iraqi refugees that the United States and Canada combined, a fact which has come to light in several US media recently, and the motivation behind Lago’s invitation to testify before the Congressional panel.
“The senators posed questions about how we in Södertälje can take in so many Iraqi refugees,” he told the news agency TT.
How can Södertälje take in so many Muslim refugees?
Did it never occur to the esteemed gentlemen from the United States Congress that it might be because the Swedes are fools, or deluded, or on crack, or some combination of all three?
No, it must be because they are morally superior to the rest of us. ’Twas ever thus.

Joining Lago at the hearing organized by the US Helskinki [sic] Commission were representatives from the US government responsible for refugee issues, as well as the Washington director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
“I explained that Sweden will continue to have a generous asylum policy and that we need immigration, but I also discussed the difficulties with arranging housing, employment, and schooling when so many refugees come at the same time,” said Lago.
Not to mention the difficulties with restraining the newcomers from stealing, mugging, raping, attacking ambulance drivers, and burning schools. But now is not the time to discuss such trivial concerns.
The Helsinki Commission is US government agency that monitors human rights and security issues of concern to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and includes members from the US Senate, and the House of Representatives, and US government agencies.
According to Lago, the senators were impressed that Sweden had taken in more refugees than the United States.
“They promised during the hearing to try to increase the number of refugees received to 12,000 this year,” he said.
You hear that, Sweden? You don’t have enough Multiculture, so more is on the way!
Sweden received around 19,000 asylum seekers from Iraq last year.
Although Obama was not a member of the US Helsinki Commission, Lagos’s thoughts returned to his meeting earlier in the week with the senator from Illinois, whom Lagos calls his “favourite candidate”.
“He even tried to pronounce ‘Södertälje’,” said Lago.
It looks like Obama and the EU are going to get along just fine. He and Blair and Fogh and Barroso can gather in the gilded palaces of Brussels and Strasbourg and set the world to rights.
Oh, by the way — I can pronounce “Södertälje”. Does that mean I get to be President, too?

Does anyone stop to ask what type of person would be seeking asylum from a post-Saddam, post-Al Qaeda Iraq?
"No, it must be because they are morally superior to the rest of us"
Actually, back in the 70'ies and 80'ies former swedish PM Oluf Palme (who was assasinated in 1986), declared that Sweden ought to be the quote "Moral Superpower of the World". No more no less!
The moral superpower of the world....Taste that!
Guess they still try to fullfil Der Führers last will?
"It looks like Obama and the EU are going to get along just fine. He and Blair and Fogh and Barroso can gather in the gilded palaces of Brussels and Strasbourg and set the world to rights."
Yeah, good idea! And it looks more likely by the hour that Fogh is going to be there. Even members from his own party, Venstre, is voicing concern of his behaviour lately. He spends more time in foreign countries than he does in Denmark.

And a member of his own party participated lately in giving muslims the right to wear headscarves in paliament:

Guess they are now trying to do what they can to serve the Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice of the EUSSR as good as possible.
Christians or not - Södertälja has loads of problems.
"It’s a bit, inappropriate for the head of an elected government to make campaign endorsements for a candidate and party of a different country."
Has become a swedish habit. During the 2005 campaign in Denmark , then swedish PM Göran Persson visited the danish opposition leader Mogens Lykketoft.
...that it might be because the Swedes are fools, or deluded, or on crack, or some combination of all three?
Amen, to that!
Last year it was fashionable among some anti-Jihadists to suggest to grant asylum to all Christians minorities from the Muslim world. The idea seemed to be to drain the Muslim world of Christians, and stuff tens of millions of people into Western countries. Or maybe it was just meant as a symbolic meaningless gesture?
In either case, anyone being serious about promoting such an idea should first make a study visit to Södertälje. Sweden is there as an example to learn from. Make use of it! Do not repeat the mistakes!
"And all this just after the Swedish MSM has begun a public debate about the wisdom of the country’s current immigration practices."

Hell, no! One single immigration critical debate article in 'Dagens Nyheter' is no 'started public debate'. It might only be the one and only alibi-article for the big jewish publishing house Bonnier: -we tried in spring 2008, but no one was interested to take up a debate.
(Bonnier owns Dagens Nyheter, Sydsvenskan, Expressen, Kvällsposten and a lot of other daylies)
Why shouldn't Obama enjoy the gilded palaces of Europe? He's already enjoying the gilded palaces in San Francisco.

Be afraid people, be very afraid.
Tom
With Obama the US seems to head for its first black president. But this guy is not so much a black American as he is an African-American (yes, for the first time I've found this term truly applicable!)
But everybody (especially himself) looks at his identity primarily through the colour of his skin. So regardless of the relative lack of substance of it he's seen as representing black America (since surface beats substance!)
Blackness today has too many troubling connections to Islam (or NOI). Obama's reverend Wright used to be a Muslim (quite as Obama himself?). In these circles antisemitism is flowing (among other things). An Obama presidency is probably good since it will wake people up to the realty of things; the reality of the true emotions and attitudes of influential black opinion-makers etc. (like a four year O.J. Simpson trial, only much bigger and louder).
The sooner people go through the necessary shocks they have ahead of them the better. And there are quite a few of them actually. But it's still also quite possible that the vast majority will learn nothing substantially from it...
black America(n) -> Black America(n)
Should be capitalized to make better sense here. But I'm not English so who am I to know... I'm still using this language at an experimental level.
So LN,
You think that in a parallel universe, in a Sweden without Bonnier, we wouldn't have had the very same problems?
It's like the many people who think that in a parallel universe, in a Europe without the E.U., we would not have had the same problems.
People focusing on such peripheral and ornamental aspects most probably haven't grasped how deep the sources of these problems go in our culture, how deeply into our civilizational identity (in it's current incarnation) the resonance for this ongoing cultural suicide goes.
Baron, I really like how you pretty much always include Obama's middle name when you write about him. That makes me laugh, for some reason.
Conservative Swede, I'm glad to see you commenting again. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but it seems to me you haven't commented in a while and you haven't posted on your blog either, which is sad.
Anyway, this article is pretty much one of the many reasons why I do not support Obama - and honestly, I can't understand how anyone can. I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but still...
"Conservative Swede, I'm glad to see you commenting again"! (said initiatively by Natalie)
I surely have been paying attention, so I know you haven't commented in quite a while and on your blog you haven't posted either, which perhaps is sad.
But now, here you are, in good health it seems; so thanks for your poisonousnesses.

For me there are no parallel universes (with or without Bonnier), for me there could have been another Sweden in my prime lifetime, if the then prime minister Tage Erlander had not had the bloody bad taste to chose Olof Palme as his Undersecretary of State in 1953, when I was 18 years of age.
15 years later the stones started rolling downwards. Olof Palme had become Minister of Education and school-crises have been countless and a conveyor belt production of functional illiterates has now gone on for 40 years. Olof Palme started profiling himself by marching around Stockholm together with the Viet Cong Ambassador to Moscow, which was very unpopular in the US; Luther King and Kennedy were murded, Springtime in Prag was crushed and in the year thereafter Armstrong puts his feet on the lunar surface and Olof Palme becomes Prime Minister of Sweden and chairman of the Social Democratic Workers Party. Tableau!
Can you CS visualize another Sweden?
In the danish paper Kristeligt-Dagblad you could the other day read that the Council of Danish Churches had accepted an invitation to a DIALOG with 138 'learned muslim men', some of whom have given expression of ideas like: The work that Hitler started must be finished by the muslims, Israel must be exterminated, wiped from the world map; Islam will dominate the world etc. http://tinyurl.com/3sml8e

I wrote: "It might only be the one and only alibi-article for the big jewish publishing house Bonnier: -we tried in spring 2008, but no one was interested to take up a debate."
Let me complement: When will the jewish publishing house Bonnier be inclined to see which way things are going and open for an impartial debate in their MSM-papers about the lethal massimmigration to Sweden and the ongoing muslimisation of Sweden/Europe - or is Bonnier wizely and cowardly following the advise of the used up and former minister Jens Orback, who advised that 'we must be kind to the muslims so the muslims will be kind to us, when they have taken over.
Which parallel universe(s) do I think of, CS?
Oh, by the way — I can pronounce “Södertälje”. Does that mean I get to be President, too?
If you ran for office I'd apply for a US citizenship in a heartbeat just to vote for you. "Baron 012!" Go for it! :-)
@ ln
What's the "Jewish" ownership got to do with anything? The Bonnier family have lived i Sweden for two centuries.
Hi Natalie,
I like your comments too, and you look good in sunglasses. And no I haven't blogged this year "which perhaps is sad" (to quote LN).
LN,
No I'm not exactly in good health right now. I have a horrible cold, which is the reason I'm here at all. Otherwise I'm having a break from it all.
OK, so you want to imagine a Sweden without Olof Palme. But it's still a Sweden that skipped both the world wars, still a Sweden dominated by social democracy, still the socialist model country (note to Zenster: yes, the Swedish karma is to be found among these things, but it's more complicated than you think, and too long for me to elaborate upon right now).
Let's create the parallel universe, using a time machine etc., where Palme is replace by Fredrik Reinfeldt as the leader of the social democrats and prime minister from 1969 (can you imagine any more nice an benevolent leader for the social democrats then Reinfeldt?).
Do you see any difference? Well, yeah, maybe Sweden would have had a less obnoxious outlook. But would it have stopped the cultural suicide?
Sweden can not be viewed in isolation, it's just a branch on the tree of the Western Christian world. You can remove Palme or tens of vicious leftists/liberals (well even hundreds) and nothing would have changed.
Regarding Bonniers. Does it matter that they are Jewish? Well, surely the Jews are overrepresented among the army of goodness scouts destroying our civilization. But does it really matter? Think away all the Jews. Now the Bonnier house is called the Svensson house, and is owned by socialist or liberal Swedes. Do you see any substantial difference?
Same with the E.U.
Mikael asks: "What's the "Jewish" ownership got to do with anything?
The Bonnier family have lived i Sweden for two centuries."
- - - - -
To this there is only one answer - in swedish: Goddag Yxskaft
or translated: - How do you do! - Axe-handle.
- - - - -
A man who is hard of hearing sits at a road crossing carving on an axe-handle. He sees a woman come going against him. He reflects: first she asks what I am carving on, and then I reply "axe-handle", then she asks how far it is to town, and I reply "two miles" and then she asks the direction to town, and I reply “to the left”. The woman comes up to the man: - How do you do. - Axe-handle. - Yes? It was me a long and delicate handle. - Two miles. - Are you fully twisted man? - To the left.
Hej då!
ln
Yes, we have the same expression in Danish: Goddag mand økseskaft!
But I'm afraid your response didn't quite answer my question: What does the Jewishness have to do with anything? Are you implying that Bonnier is part of the Vast Zionist Conspiracy(TM)that rules the world?
Conservative Swede asks:
"Now the Bonnier house is called the Svensson house, and is owned by socialist or liberal Swedes. Do you see any substantial difference?"
- - - - -
Yes, I think I do, at least I would like to have a suspiction that there could exist a certain antagonism or alienation between the jewish owners of Bonnier House and the submitters of allah. Svensson House should not have had any problems with mohammedans.
Replacing Palme with Frederique Reinfeldt back in 1969 is absurd - a person like Reinfeldt could not have been created/produced in those days - because the whole socialdemocratic social apparatus/school of latter days would have been necessary for such an achievement.
Like a free artist you are freshly and without restraint mixing time-perspectives - and to me the following words occurre:
the words fly up, the thoughts remain below, and deliberately I leave the heaven out.
Try to get better! (= Krya på dig!)
