Krekar is an open supporter of Osama bin Laden, whom he has called the “jewel of Islam.” But according to the European Union, we cannot deport him. That would violate his human rights.
Mullah Krekar has been a thorn in the side of Norway for years. He has helped maintain jihad terrorism websites, advocated the killing of Australian soldiers in Iraq, and threatened retaliation if he is deported.
But he can’t be deported because he faces possible execution if he returns to Iraq. Like those Somali pirates who can claim asylum in the UK if they ever manage to get there, Mullah K. can remain safely ensconced in Norway no matter how bad a boy he is.
According to Aftenposten:
Krekar can stay in Norway- - - - - - - - -
After months of quiet diplomacy, the Norwegian government has given up on efforts to send former terrorist-group leader Mullah Krekar back to his homeland.
Krekar, who has been under an expulsion order after being determined a threat to Norway’s national security, initially came to Norway as a refugee from Iraq in the early 1990s.
It later emerged that he was the head of guerrilla group Ansar al-Islam and he repeatedly violated the terms of his asylum by travelling back to northern Iraq to lead guerrilla activities.
Krekar is the only person in Norway ever to have been sentenced to deportation because he is a danger to the country’s security.
However, Norway has not been able to deport Krekar because he faces the death penalty in his homeland. Norway will not extradite anyone if they are under threat of execution when they are returned to their country of origin.
[…]
Mullah Krekar’s lawyer, Harald Stabell, is satisfied with the outcome. “An agreement for deportation would not have held up in relation to international regulations on human rights,” said Stabell to newspaper VG.
However, he notes that Krekar continues to be without rights in Norway and the deportation order remains in place.
[Labour and Inclusion Minister Bjarne] Hanssen confirmed the decision to let Krekar stay, but said: “With the proviso that I assume the police will protect Norwegian citizens from a person that is regarded to be a danger to the country’s security.”
This is a nasty little trap we have gotten ourselves into…
The West has to import lots of questionable Third-World immigrants for the sake of Multiculturalism, and to save poor refugees from persecution, and to make up for its own lack of willing low-wage laborers.
If our guests turn out to be criminals or worse, pointing out that fact is evidence of “racism”, and can cause the offender to be fired or prosecuted.
If a violent and dangerous criminal happens to be among the new arrivals, he can’t be deported because — surprise! — his prospects would be worse at home.
Then, presumably, he can get all his uncles, aunts, parents, grandparents, wives, children, and cousins into the country under the “family reunification” rules.
And then all of the above subsist at taxpayers’ expense on generous welfare payments.
Are we all lunatics, or what?
By the way — in the photo above, you’ll notice that Mullah Krekar appears to have the “Muslim stigmata”, the red bruise on the forehead that comes from the frequently repeated and extra-zealous banging of the head on the mosque floor during prayers.

It would be tragic if on some moonless night a group of Norwegian baseball players fresh from a game accidentally mistook Krekar for a baseball and used him for batting practice.
Absolutely tragic, I tells yez.
If the Western societies cannot expell unwanted people from their countries, then perhaps it's time to revive the old sentence of "outlaw", where a person is not protected by the law as long as the person stays within the jurisdiction of the law...
Zenster
there are no norwegian baseballplayers to do these things for us; also you can be pretty sure krekar is surrounded by a bunch of thugs.I doubt if any local gang has any appetite for him. So far..
A good idea would be to send the norwegian police on a tour to Israel , where they could learn from their israeli colleges how it's done : In order to get rid of unwanted peoble you have to
1. lock them up in harsh enough coditions , so that they start dreaming about greener pastures
2. make a deal with some far away third-world contry that no one has ever heard about. The best kind of deal involves training of local police, who can then deal with guys like krekar far, far, FAR away from his media-protectors.
3. In order for the police to do its job of protecting the people ,the police needs to protect ITSELF against the stupidity&cowardliness of the politicians. this is best done by investigating the financial afairs of party leaders , and dragging them to court for endless public trials about minor financial iregularitites. As long as they let the police do its job , they will eventualy be aquitted of all blame. If they start behaving too much like NORWEGIANS , they'll probably end up in jail
It's a dirty game , but that's how you play it , if you want to WINN !
My last attempt to leave a comment just now didn't work - so I'll give it another, more succinct shot: Forget the Somali pirates, the UK has Abu Qatada and 12 Libyan jihadists out of jail and on the streets collecting $2k+ in welfare every month.
What the F***!

What is it about our leaders that they cannot see the obvious conclusion of this kind of insanity?
Well, they're either stupid or insane.
They obviously were too sophisticated to grasp the concept of the story of "The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg."
Krekar should be at the top of the termination list. All we need is a black op org to begin striking names from the list.
c
If they "force themselves" to keep this maniac, are they at least keeping him in solitary confinement?
If not, they're not only morons, but suicidal morons.
Hey that, bastard mullah in London was given life sentence the other day. Couldn't that work for Krekar too? Oh, no, that's right: "LIFE SENTENCE" in Scandinavia equates to roughly twelve years in prison.
Now we have a double standard since the eussr has re-introduced the death penalty,in the teeth of the un declaration of human rights.you can be subject to the death penalty for war, riot or "upheaval"?which means just about anything, already we have a shoot to kill policy, courtesy of cressida dick and common purpose,so if you are demonstrating, especially if you are an indigenous native, you can be gunned down on your own streets.
since this muslim vermin can make repeated trips to his homeland without much trouble, this danger of execution by the authorities does not ring true, and it is high time that we got started on the hit list.
Profitsbeard: If not, they're not only morons, but suicidal morons.

Haven't the Norwegians turned their constitution into a suicide pact?

As Belmont Club's Wretchard observed:
The Israeli strike against the terrorist top tier exploits the weakness inherent in terrorist organizations which are unstable alliances based on a delicate balance of internal intimidation. None of them, the Palestinian Authority included, are either transparent or accountable. They are exceptionally vulnerable to changes in their leadership. They can stand the loss of any number of teenage fighters or youthful suicide bombers without much damage but are rocked -- as Yassin's death illustrates -- by death at the top.
Israel's swift elimination of Yassin and Rantissi has left Fatah and Hamas at each others' throats almost to the exclusion of significant attacks against Israel.
I can assure you that were the above list of 38 (living) people atritted, jihad would come to a grinding halt for several months if not years. Progress will have been made when jihadis must first look over their shoulder before shouting "death to America".
The only debate I'm willing to entertain is whether the killings should be made to look like accidents or publicized rather loudly. I'm willing to go halfway and hold back gunsight footage until enough on the list are capped so they don't all go to ground. Still, it is vital that we let Islam know that their @ss is ours.
I'll close with this thought: Iran and Iraq fought for EIGHT LONG YEARS, killing HALF A MILLION MUSLIMS, only to reach a bloody stalemate.
America walked into Iraq and rolled it up in under ONE MONTH. What sort of message did this send to the Muslim world? What sort of message would be sent to Islam if all of terrorism's biggest players suddenly came down with swift onset lead poisoning?
PS: I'm open to suggestions regarding new candidates for the #39 and 40 slots. The only criteria is that they must be truly deserving of inclusion.
zenster - good point about the constitution = suicide pact. That's the one point that always gets brought up here in the US. US constitution =/ suicide pact (how do you do that symbol properly?).
The EU has well and truly screwed themselves and all their constituents with that human rights guarantees crap - apparently no foresight in the lot of them.
I'm as much for normal "human rights" as anyone else, but not the rights of the many outweigh the rights of one - especially when that one is 1. NOT a citizen AND 2. is a convicted terrorist. It's not as though they're actually sentencing him to death (wouldn't have a problem with that myself), but deportation is just that - deportation. If someone else has a legitimate judicial claim on him (and legal authority - not to mention being willing to pick up the tab) let him go.
Zenster - do you know where all these good people on "the list" can be found? Might be amusing if they were led to believe there really was a termination list and they were all being profiled, their habits and routines documented, there homes being watched...
